Mine was the levellers at Manchester Academy, 1992 (I don't count the Smash Hits roadshow, although Kylie and the Reynolds girls were there!!!)

When I was 8, my parents rightly thought I should experience Ella Fitzgerald live and so we went to see her at the Perth Concert Hall.
I still remember it.

My first 'pop' concert was Frankie Goes To Hollywood at the Royal Court Liverpool on the 22nd December 1984.
The numbness in my ears lasted for days.

The Damned closely followed by Afrika Bambaata and The Soul Sonic Force both at some right dodgy club in Essex.
After that I saw George Benson, Stevie Wonder, Maze, Level 42 and Grand Master Flash all in the space of about 18 months.

My first gig was Queensryche when I was 14 (my Dad was a big fan and I was pretty into them too)... the next one was the last ever Monsters of Rock (Kiss, Ozzy, et al...) That was a cracking day apart from the dodgy burger and being sick throughout Ozzy's set (which went on for about two and a half hours as Kiss arrived late... I like some of Ozzy's solo stuff but two and a half hours? Jesus!)... lol!

Nice one Ozzy, I say, for extending his set. He could have left you standing around waiting after all.

My first gig was Hot Chocolate, who played in the hotel I was staying at while on holiday in Paignton when I was about 13. My first proper gig - ie one I planned to go to and bought tickets for - was Genesis at Bristol Hippodrome in 1976 or 77. It was after Peter Gabriel left but, but Steve Hackett was still playing guitar so it was before they became all poppy and horrible.

Very ashamed to admit it though but it was New Kids On The Block in 1991 at the sheffield arena. I also embarresed myself even mor by having palpatations and having to be carried out screaming( ) The thing is though we were right at the back and couldn't hardly see anything

Blur - Mile End 1995

A brilliant day out with my friends after finishing GCSE's. Standout moments included support from Sparks, Popscene done at 100 mph and my first experience of the Visit to Primrose Hill Extended Version of For Tomorrow. An emotional song taken to another level by the brass section and given extra poignancy by the rain.

I guess so, I was being a tad ungrateful there I suppose! Then again, I was so busy being ill (whatever possessed me to try an Donnington Death Burger?) that Ozzy kind of drifted over my head!
