Orange Missed Call Alert
Well I did a search for this but couldn't find anything, but I was very please this morning, as I turned my phone off last night (due to this girl at my local Jumpin Jaks keeps stalking me over SMS!) and then turned it on this morning - and one of the texts was from Orange.
It said "Free Missed Call Alert", and it listed the numbers which rang me but did not leave a message on the answer-phone, as well as the time tey tried to call. Really pleased with this, as I understand some of the other networks have got the 1471 equivalent. Is this only open to Orange contract people like me, or does everyone, even on PAYG get it? |

Never even knew I had it! Since when have Orange customers been getting this service?

I've been getting it for the last two or three weeks It confused me a bit at first but now I quite like it. the only problem is that it gives the number so I then have to go rummaging through my address book if I don't recognise it.

Tried it last night. Excellent, hope it continues free. Quote:

dont know exactly how the voda 1471 works, but how would you know that someone has called and not left a msg on your answer phone? Otherwise you have to dial 1471 all the time to check. At least orange txts you, so u know straight away

My advice would be rather than dialing the actual number you replace the leading zero with a '1' or something else. Your phone only checks the last 9 digits to see if it recognises the number, this way you wont accidently endup calling some one.But it would be a useful feature for them to add a number look upi feature. |

Still it's a useful service, took me by surprise when my first one came through last week! It's definately better than 1471, and it's also better for the networks as SMSs use up a lot less resources than calls. |
