so because their last album wasn't great, and you happen to dislike their new single (1 song) that means they're finished? come off it. none of their new stuff has been released yet, let's wait until we hear the whole album and see how well it does before we jump to these sorts of conclusions.

Still the best girl band around, so that must mean something! |

These conclusions haven't been surfacing just now. It's been like this since their last album, when they seemed to have alienated most of their fans with a wrong direction. |

I loved their last album, it was different as it was a maturer sound, so I can see why some may not like it, but that's why I love them because they try something different each time around. I love Get Sexy and About A Girl.

So then where/when are we supposed to judge an artist, especially ones who have been around for nearly 10 years, so I think it is fine to be able to write some of their work or the people themselves off as you've already been very familiar with them for quite sometime.

Considering they seem to have abandoned their sound completely now, It does seem like if this album isn't a smash then they'll be dropped. Get Sexy doesn't fit with the Sugababes one bit and to me seems like they're completely at the mercy of the record company after a bomb of a last album (Which I actually enjoyed)
To answer the OP question, yes I think they are close to having their day. I hope they can avoid it though, do ok with this album then return again with a sound more like their own. At this stage I'm personally thinking I won't be buying the next album, I detest "Get Sexy" and the others I've heard aren't exactly classic Sugababes by any means. I just hope Get Sexy ropes in enough Chavs to save them until they can return to their own sound. |

About A Girl will be massive. All they have done is cange their style. All artists do it from time to time. Every album Madonna has done has been different to her last and that is how she is the Queen Of Pop. If they stuck to one style all the time people would ore and Abour A Girl which is the second single is probably up there with Freak Like Me and Hole In The Head..

I have my reservations about it, but it could still be a good album. "Thank You For The Heartbreak" and "About A Girl" have potential to be really good in the studio and that has restored my faith in the projet to some extent.

The Sugababes will never die. They'll still be around in 30 years time...with a different line-up

.![]() I think their new sound is completely dire btw, the last album didn't flop because it was bad, it flopped because of awful promotion and bad single choices. And now rather than correcting that by promoting properly and making good singles they're trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator. |

If this album isn't as good, then it's safe to say they need to call a day. But let's watch this space.
Get sexy is a wicked tune. I prefer it to About you know. I do like that song but it's so overrated. |

Every artist has that one particular album that will bomb.
Even the perfect Leona will deal with this eventually. |

seriously, get a life. i don't particularly like the song either but what a pathetic thing to say.
It sounds like a dodgy Flo Rida style track, which Chavs love. I hope they buy it and for the next album we get something that more resembles the Sugababes who have had a decade of success and deserve the chance to stick with their original sound. |

No way! Their last 2 albums were a bit hit and miss with me, but i absolutely love their new single. It has a bit of edge and attitide which is something the Sugababes have been lacking since the days of Mutya.
I have really high hopes for their new album Get Sexy is easily my favourite SB single since Ugly. Listening to it reminds me of the likes of Hole in the Head and In the Middle.

I still haven't got over Mutya leaving to be quite honest. Love her.

Are you serious?
Have you heard it? its a song I'm surprised Lady GaGa didn't demand she was given. They are lucky to even have it and it should have been the comeback song instead of Get Sexy. |
