No or bad signal
Rinsed

Hello all
My first post as a Humax HDR owner and Freesat convert.

I have encountered an issue that when I record, every other channel other than the one being recorded says no or bad signal. I have two cables set up correctly (when I first scanned it said "two cables") fed from a Sky+ dish left by the previous owners. I know they are both working as I can record two channels at once.

Is this a known issue? Should I re-scan? once the programmes have stopped recording?

Being able to record 2 channels at once does not necessarily mean both tuners are working. A single tuner can record 2 channels at once if they happen to be on the same transponder. Best advice do a reset to factory defaults (you need to make a note of your recording schedule as you will lose them). Again watch for the 2 cables message. Once up and running start an instant recording on 108 BBC HD, start a second on 951 BBC1 CI.

Now tune to any other channels and press pause, you should be able to time shift any other channel if the stb's working correctly. Recording 108 and 951 only use one tuner leaving tuner 2 available for time shifting

Thanks, this is very helpful and has worked! It seems that a factory reset doesnt erase recordings unlike my (awful) Thomson TUTV box. First impressions of FS HDR are good

Ouch that must be a right pain. I have 3 freeview pvrs and of course the hdr. Resetting any of them does not affect existing recordings, just resets any changes you may have made to personal settings back to the defaults and deletes the reservation list. This is quite surprising on the hdr as it keeps the reservation list in it's own partition on the hdd so it may even retain the recording reservations with a future firmware upgrade.
