I'm finally watching BB2, and just wondered if anyone here watched it on the live feed at the time, and if so, was Shannon as totally unstable as she appears to be on the HL show or was she just edited badly?

I truly can not find anything likable about her, but Will obviously can, so wondered if there was more to her than what we get to see on the show?

All I remember of her is the
Spoiler

I can't remember anything particularly likeable about her.

I thought Shannon was a great villain.

The toothbrush incident, the putting the bag of potato chips on Autumn's bed, her hate for Hardy.

I thought Shannon was pretty mean, but I shared her hatred of Hardy, so I think I liked her just for that.

She was hilariously mean, but the two points about BB2 that I remember clearly are

a) one guy telling Bunky he hated gay people
b) 9/11 - Monica more specifically. One of the only times I've cried whilst watching a reality tv show.

That would be Kent haha.. Apparently he and Bunky went onto be longtime friends.. There's a housecalls video from around Allstars time, and apparently, they still e-mailed on a regular basis around then.

Kent! The name wouldn't come to me. And I do remember that, when Bunky said he was the only one he still talked to.

Yeah Kent and Bunky developed a proper frienship and to this day keep in touch.

BB2 had so many classic moments (beware of spoilers):

-That first vote, which was supposed to be a whitewash for Nicole, but was switched and Sheryl was blindsided. From that moment the show had changed from the Season 1 mentality of 'keeping the nice people in' and it became a game.
-Will's fast.
-The toothbrush incident.
-Justin getting kicked out.
-Shannon vs Hardy.
-Kent vs Hardy.
-Kent vs Monica.
-Will at the seance. "I actually had a friend called Jim that died working on an oil-rig".
-The Monica 9/11 incident.
-The plane banner sent by Nicole's husband.
-Dr Will's entire game play.

I love Season 2.

I really liked Sheryl, but I think Nicole is one of the most underated players ever. I think she should have won, had Will not been in the same house.

*Treading carefully passed things I haven't seen yet* (Thanks for the headsup Redmund )

Thanks for everyone's comments about Shannon. She was most definitely an interesting 'villain'. After watching the show where she was evicted, I just ended up feeling kind of sorry for her. Wish I had watched the live-feed now, as I would have loved to have watched what she (and some of the others) was like 'live'.

At the moment (week 4) I kind of like most of the HMs which is ironic because I did start watching the live-feed for season 2, but soon switched it off as they all seemed such horrible people. (Perhaps it's just the fact that the bar has been lowered so much since then that they now all look like saints? )

It is pretty good The only problem with it IMO is there's no veto, which makes one episode a week really dull, though if you like the relationships betweeen the housemates and fights and stuff like that, you get a lot more of it

Season 2 is still my favourite, watched it twice and it still stands up well. I don't really mind them not having Veto, as Kyle says, if you like the more observational aspect then it is definitely for you. I also think it requires a bit more strategic thinking because once you are on the block you can't just get off by winning a comp, you have to actually work hard to convince your fellow housemates to keep you.

Julie Chen says her favourite season was Season 2:

JH: Did anyone have any idea when "Big Brother" started in 2000 that it would grow into the still-huge hit that it is today?

JC: I don't think anybody, including me. Especially after we came out of the gate and it was like a month after "Survivor" became this big overnight sensation. We were viewed as this watered down, cheap version, not as well executed. I wonder how the public would have received us if we were on before they were but, then again, I do think there were problems with the show during the first season with the rules because it was such a success the way we were running it the first season in other countries but culturally other countries were so different from us. The main difference was the first season we had America voting who they wanted off from week to week and we found that Americans voted off the most interesting people who were trouble makers.

We, as Americans, don't like conflict whereas the other three countries we were running Holland, Germany and the UK it was huge because culturally over there in Europe they take more risks than we do. Maybe their programming is not as exciting on a day-to-day basis so they voted on the JR Ewing to stay. They liked that turmoil. We had to change the rules around but I never thought we'd go this long. Season two, to this day, I still think that was our best season yet but people were so either turned off from the first season or there were people who watched season two but they weren't sure if they liked it but then we had these closet fans who eventually came out of the closet. I always tell people if they can get their hands on season two, it was amazing.

My opinions on Shannon, were neutral. Didn't dislike her but didn't like her as well.
