HDR Reception Issue ???
Ayce

All,

I'm having a couple of reception issues with some channels - OK they are not major but the misses wants them... well the first 2 at least. True Movies 1 & 2, Scuzz and a few others. Whats confusing me is that these are been received in some cases with a good signal yet its telling me its not and secondly these are working fine on Sky through the same LNB & dish.

Correctly if I am wrong but these are the same stream rather than two separate ones so I'm not sure whats going on.

Any thoughts guys ? ( BTW Lower end 101,102 etc seem Ok )

Tune to true movies and go into Menu/System/Diagnostics and report what signal strength and quality you get. My hdr reports 100% signal 90% quality from this transponder.

The channels you are having problems with all appear to be on transponder 11642 V.

List of channels by transponder here

Strength 80-100, quality flickering from 0 directly to 80 on both tuners.

Swapped the leads over on the LNB got the same.... will change the sat end this way I'll know if its the cable or not which I doubt as other channels are fine.

It sounds as if you have a local source of interference at 11642 Mhz. Chief suspects, wifi routers or cordless phones. Switch off to confirm culprit, try moving router/cordless phone orientation and position.

Mmmmmm got a router right next to it..... I'll try it later tonight and post the results up..... funny how the Sky box isnt been interfered with it as it sits just under the HDR.

It's probably that the sky box had better screening than the hdr or that being lower it's not affected. Try putting the hdr under the sky box

Disabled the wifi... made a little difference.... but it could even been the phone etc etc too.... I'll keep playing.

Definitely check your phone as my cordless interferes with these exact same channels. Doesn't really bother me as I never watch them but obviously a bit of a pain if you do.

Guys - just thought I'd post an update.....

Ended up switching my router..... BTW despite playing I couldn't find the problem..... any way even up until last week I was still seeing issues on the HDR..... then - about 10 mins ago powered on and it was asking for a scan or some thing to the effect there was a new channel ( that LGC or what ever I think )....... tried TM 1 and 2 and would you believe it - perfect reception..... in fact better than before.....

Dont think theres been much shuffling but if there has thats me sorted
