I was Thinking today for some sad reason what happened to Dunkin Donuts in the Uk?

I know they had stores all over the uk and a lot of them closed but they kept a store going in London.

Is it still there and can you order there lovely Donuts online?

I could eat loads of them i really could.

Can't remember if the one in Piccadilly, London is still there - even though I walked past it last night! - although it's not much help to you in Staffs!

I'll check today if I go there and will report back anyway.

Dunkin Donuts is awesome.

But, I'll tell you what's better: TIM HORTONS.
Anyone else like Timmys? They're Canadian but also quite popular in the States too, their donuts are to die for.

There are lots of Dunkin Donuts shops in Berlin if you're that desperate!

Am I right in thinking there's still one in Selfridges in Birmingham, or is this a Krispy Kreme.

I fancy a few donuts right now!

I prefer Spudnuts. They're an old-fashioned doughnut chain that used to be available throughout North America, but is now limited mostly to California. They make the doughnuts out of potatoes (hence the name), which makes them light and soft.

Dunkin Donuts flopped in Britain, and the company pulled out of the UK in the early part of the decade.

Nicest doughnuts I have had were at Hayling Island, the fair there had a little stand that made these American ring doughnuts right in front of you.

Haven't been in years.

Can't beat a Krispy Kreme. Although the Caramel Dreamcake was a bit more than I could handle.

Dunkin Donuts last few stores here in Athens shut last year which is a shame as their mini honey dipped and cinammon dusted doughnut holes were awesome - as was their American style coffee.

I was so sad when they went. I lvoed everything from their stores. The hotdogs and ice-cream were as gorgeous as the cups of dougnut holes.

Another vote for Tim Hortons.

Bloody marvellous doughnuts - plus a box of their Timbits is damn good munchie fodder.
Oh and a bacon and egg bagel in the morning is pretty good too.
I spend far too much there and consume far too many calories.

That's not true as most Americans do not even have access to T. Hortons. Most wouldn't even know what you are talking about if you asked them about it.

I agree though that Dunkin Donuts is awesome. I also believe they are better than T. Hortons.

Well I'm sorry for the OP, it hurts when your favourite food/food retailer disappears, it's happened to me many times.

But a door closes, another opens. You can't beat Polish doughnuts in my experience. By comparison 'western doughnuts' as I call them are just terrible.

Pączki ("Ponchkee")

Hard to find though, but that's alright, you shouldn't eat too many of them.

Oh I've seen these in the deli across the street - I'm really tempted to try them now!! I hope there's one with a blackcherry filling!
