We have two standard analogue BT phone lines to our office which share the same incoming number.
They are fed through to an NEC PABX system
I know the NEC system supports caller ID but I have been told by BT that they do not offer caller ID on multi-line systems.

Does anyone know if this is correct?

Many thanks

Simon

If BT have told you it's not supported, why don't you believe them?

We have multiple lines sharing the same number with caller ID, but it's residential. Perhaps business is different (assuming by "office" you have a business account)?

Thanks for the initial replies guys.
In response to Appleseed's question I know it is possible (as companies utilise this to automatically show your details when you phone them up)...but it may be that it is not supported on the standard analogue lines, only via ISDN.

Hi

I have checked with the BT Call Features support team and they have said that you should be able to get Caller Display on a PSTN Multi Line.

Kind Regards

Hi BT Support,

Thanks for that encouraging reply.
is there a particular phone number to call and team i need to speak to at BT? also product/service ref code? just concerned that if i ring the standard BT number and speak to one of the 1st level call centre staff about adding caller display i'll be given the same response that i had before telling me it cannot be done.

I stand corrected - you were right to question the initial answer it seems!
