Touch Phones - Protective Film
Anyone taken the screen protective film off their mobile and not put it back? I was thinking of doing it for my new LG Cookie. Any consequences?

Personally I wouldn't bother with a screen protector - especially if the screen is glass. There's been too many horror stories about problems when you remove it.
However I do have a case that protects the rest of the phone. |

Im actually looking for something for the screen of my N97. I took the cover that comes with the phone off today. Only because it got scratched somehow and was interferring with the display. Also works out to be around £11 after shipping! Is it really worth that much?! |

I use this:
http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4...&ob=price&fb=1 It's great, no scratches and you can barely see it once it's on. |

I think they sell it in CPW as well, but I went the internet route to make sure I was only dealing with them. I thought those flimsy covers that came on the phone were just shipping covers...Not really meant to be left on....

My N97 got a scratch on the screen within 2 weeks of me taking the factory film off. My pocket is a pretty hostile environment, though.

I suppose if you sit in an office all day with only the danger of a paper cut to deal with it will be fine without a cover!!

You would be surprised what abuse they can take. I do manual work and use my phone when working. However a builder or similar would wreck the phone due to the amount of abrasive dust going onto it.

I have to say I really need protection on my iphone. I usually keep my phones in good condition and do not drop them and get scrapes on them at all. When I first for my iphone I thought I didnt need a screen protector as I never get scratches on my phone, however after about 3 weeks I got a tiny scratch on my screen, you can't really see it unless you know it is there but after that I realised that I needed a screen protector. And Im so glad I got one. My OH has a G1 phone and doesnt used a screen protector and his screen is scratch free which is good considering he drops his phone a lot. I think the iphone screen is more sensitive to scratches.
