hi moving back home to my dads due to cut backs in work . i've got bt vision i have rang bt to cancel and they said i can keep the box . fine i though , all i need to know is can i use the box as a stand alone p.v.r yes i know i won't have any bt vision shows or stuff but will it work without the internet cable

No I'm afraid it won't. Although this was promised BT have never delivered on it, so even to use as a pvr only you still need the internet connection.

the other question i should of put on as well is ... if there was a internet connection there does it have to be bt internet cause my dads on sky broadband i think ?

Also need an active Vision account also, I believe - even of you dont subscribe to any value packs - still need a vision account to watch freeview/use the PVR.
