Should the Scots just stay where they belong
- Emmerdale is a real mix of accents as far as I can see, it seems a haven for those from teh North-East! Almost all of the DIngles are from Lancashire (though I think we are meant to think they have Yorkshire accents) and the Wyldes and Lambs have southern/midlands accents. I really like the Bartons, including Ma. It is really refreshing to have a likeable, morally upright, hardworking family (much as I LOVE the DIngles) who get on. I think the younger daughter needs a bit more time to bed-in to the role but I trust entirely in ED's ability to cast young parts brilliantly.
I vaguely recognise the actor who plays Ma Barton but I think she has made this new role her own already.
