Sony DVD Recorder- RDR-HXD770 - EPG Problem + Guide Plus

Hello

I have a Sony dvd recorder - rdr-hxd770 and I am trying to set up the guide plus

I manually tuned it using sky channel 'Eurosports' which is the receiver channel for guide plus. I got my channels. With the sky channels the source was 'Ext Receiver 1'....I then had some analogue channels and some digital.

When I select channel 'Sky 1' which is a sky channel on the guide plus system it just goes to 'LINE 1' ( Line 1 is my sky channel )It doesn't turn to sky one on sky, but instead just tunes into Line 1 and whatever is playing on sky, even though next to the channel you have the channel number. Most would think, what's the problem ? - Well, if I go to one click record, it won't record the correct program.

It sounds confusing but I hope you understand what I mean .

* I know I have used Eurosport as the host channel, when it says to use ITV, but my ITV signal is very poor. I have now changed it manually so that the host channel is ITV, and changed the source to 'A.TV' instead of 'Ext Receiver 1'. I'm not sure if this will resolve the problem.

* What I'm looking to have is all my sky channels on the guide plus system, so that I can record anyone at the touch of a button. My analogue and digital signal is not very good, the only good signal is sky.

Please help, it would mean so much

Get Sky+, as you subscribe (you mentioned Sky1) it's included 'free' in the subscription.

Don't mess about with Guide+ it's absolutely horrible, a terrible bodge, and fraught with problems.

But for the recorder to change channels on the Sky box, you need an IR link between it and the Sky box, these come with the recorder, and plug-in using a jack plug.
