Twitter reminds me of the complaint levelled at the police in that they spend more time writing up their reports on a crime then in actually out dealing with crime.

We are reaching a stage with all the twitters and blogs that celebs, performers, sports people etc will spend more time writing about whatt they are doing then actually doing it.

Daftness.

Not sure - but I've a complete list of DWTS Twitterers here if you want them - the contestants - and down on the right, most of the pros I think

As a twitter newbie can I ask why?

Hi Buds.......congrats on getting you appreciation threads poll done by the way.

Some people (have no idea why) start twitter accounts in the name of a celebrity .......most odd but they do.......One twitter account for Katherine Jenkins had several 1000 followers and it wasnt her.......she is on twitter now and got the other one removed.

It could be Joe's account but he isnt really using it if it is.

I'm a bit dubious about Calzaghe's twitter as well. His recent posts sound as you would expect them to regarding the lead-up to Strictly and he seemed to have quite a genuine exchange with Vernon Kay. It certainly appears more realistic than the other accounts for him. I'm just not sure though. The first event he mentions wasn't actually "last night" as he suggests, but on the 11th.

Hopefully Kristina will confirm. I'll ask her on the appreciation thread as well.

Thanks Jan - a poll for a week is better than none at all!

Clearly I've got so much to learn about twitter!

I have to admit I was one of over 12,000 people following a Davina that turned out to be someone at school who set it up as a dare, and did a convincing job for over a month until it was exposed by @Schofe.

Pillip Schofields guide to twitter may help, and when you get used to things try Googling and downloading tweetdeck, its a free download and separates all your Direct Messages, tweets and replies into three columns on one page, and you don't have to keep refreshing the page, everything rolls in automatically a bit like a fruit machine when twitter is busy, the ping tone annoys some people but can be switched off.

You can see a picture of tweetdeck on page 3 of @Schofes twitter guide.

Aww, don't be too hard on Kristina for that. The Strictly pros are obviously super busy at the moment so replying to everyone's tweets isn't always feasible. Plus not all of them have the available staff to pick up the slack! It's only to be expected, really.

oh no I am not!!!! I dont expect her to reply to anything - I didnt mean it like that - I swear

All I was saying was that if Jan255*GG* was thinking that Joes twitter was dubious coz Kristina didnt relpy it didnt mean that it wasnt Joes official twitter - just that she doesnt reply to tweets

Does that make any sense to anyone but me?

Eep, sorry olivej, I wasn't attacking you or anything, really sorry if it came across that way!

It makes total sense what you said. I was just airing my view on why some pros don't respond on Twitter either at all or as frequently as others, is all.

Its understandable that they dont have time to reply too much.......Brian seems to be the Pro dancer who replies and twitters the most.......he seems to make a point of it.....and good on him I say.

On the celeb front Rav tweets regularly and does reply to some things.

Most of the other pros and current celebs who 'twitter' post general tweets for all to see rather than replying to individuals.

I'd was going to say thanks to xtjx01 for all the advice (I do like the sound of tweetdeck), but it looks like he's left us for a while.

I can see I might get hooked on following people, but will still be surprised to get followers myself!
