Just wanted you all to know that we're pushing 560 signatures on the Save Harry Flagg petition. I recieved an email today from Iain Rogerson's sister...and his father has signed the petition to let us all know that Iain is aware of the petition, and is very, very appreciative of it. That, of course, gives me an even greater push to try to get this thing moving. Please, if you haven't signed the petition, sign it! And if you could pass the URL around to all of your friends via email...it would be appreciated!

The signatures are available to view and the actor's dad has signed the petition and says Iain (Harry) says thanks and is grateful for all the support.

I do hope we are not being tried out as if Corrie were like Reality TV programmes, in that TPTB are testing the waters about certain characters in the soap and we the veiwers can boot them out of keep them in order to feed our desires to create or destroy........with the aforementioned TPTB turning round on us the public...saying they were only carrying out our wishes when it all went belly up and pear shaped.........

I doubt that...if that were the case, Kate Ford would have been sacked long ago. It seems any Corrie board I go to, the fans are calling for her head...

Exactly. TPTB aren't bothered about what people think otherwise Daran Little would have admitted he's picked a plank & she'd have been out the door months ago.

He is. But amongst other things he has claimed credit for the idea of bringing Tracy back & the selection of Kate Ford.

According to one version of events Kate was unsure that she could play a bitch & Daran persuaded her. According to another version Daran thought she couldn't play a bitch & she persuaded him.

When she was initially cast there were a lot of derogatory comments on CSVU about her. He came on & begged people to give her a chance, then months later when comments were still being posted about how bad her acting is he came back on & started slagging the posters off.

He was very derogatory about Dawn Acton & said that "Granada do listen, but I'm not going to anymore. Kate is here to stay" or words to that effect. Then he claimed that one of the Barlows (he didn't say which one) had said "Thank God Tracey is being played by a real actress now". He also got the script editor Gareth something or other (Phillips I think) to come on & back him up saying how great Kate was.

CSVU now routinely delete anti Kate Ford posts. In fact at one point they had a message saying that all conversation about her was banned. The Canadians have just started to see her & as far as I can tell they don't like her either.

A few days ago a message was posted saying that Daran doesn't post on CSVU anymore (rumours are that he was ticked off by Granada bosses after slagging off posters on the site) but that he was looking forward to reading viewer comments about the upcoming Karl & Todd storyline.

There are different versions about that too. Daran has claimed had he that created Todd & that Bruno was told Todd would be gay from the beginning. Bruno says he was only told about a year ago.

In another interview Daran was quoted as saying that he'd been against having a gay character in the Street.

Make what you will of all that!!!

I think I'd get confused if I listened to all gossip and heresay.

CSVU is Coronation Street Visual Updates site. Just put a .net after CSVU. Sorry...don't want to get this thread taken off by putting their URL in this thread.

Why? Who's behind the site - Granada or some private lobby?

I don't know if it's a private site or not...it's just that I don't think you're allowed to post URL's to other sites on this board.

CSVU is run by Mike & Tracey & is affiliated to Granada. They get to see the finished episodes before anyone else & write the spoilers that you see.

Tracey especially has made her feeling clear about Kate Ford on other message boards but hasn't said anything derogatory about her on CSVU. Despite the fact that she doesn't like Kate's acting she still deletes posts from CSVU that criticise Kate or Daran. You should visit the site when it's unmoderated & look at the posts that go up. Go back a few hours later & you find that most of the negative ones have vanished.

Of course if you praise their friend Daran, or the guestbook then your post stays up.

Well after watching her "acting" in the wedding from hell tonight I think he should hang his head in shame. Pathetic, one dimensional, pitiful in fact just plain CRAP.

Totally agree Alan. But Daran has nailed his colour's to Kate Ford's mast so he defends at at every opportunity. I find it quite interesting that other people in Corrie have been criticised for their acting & he's said nothing, but then he comes out on CSVU & starts slagging people off for daring to have a negative opinion on her. Odd that!!
