Every year they pull the same trick !!!
Its the same old ploy every year..............they show backstage footage of Simon getting into a strop... saying he is bored, they are all crap, he wants a break... he has had enough............... and as sure as night follows day....... you just KNOW the best one of the night is about to come out.
And... of course it panned out exactly like that before Daniel came out... we had the pantomime strop....the bored look on his face as he came back out... the " I feel sorry for whoever is coming out next" line from Cheryl, bang on cue..... which can only lead one to the conclusion that Simon et al were fed the script from the producers and knew exactly how to react when the fabulous Daniel appeared. They don't even try to hide it or vary it any more.... its standard procedure now !!! |

I agree, it's so blatant aswell. As if Simon would say 'I can't do this anymore' and walk off if Danyl was really 'the last auditionee'...They must think we're idiots.
Atleast there seemed to be less sob stories. |

Why would they all leave and go back for one audition? Clearly didn't happen.

It does seem to be set-up, in the sense they know beforehand if an act is going to be potentially very good, much like in Britains got talent they always seem to interview and get camera footage of the acts which go on to be the shows star.
Like before they go on stage and perform for the first time, howcomes they only talk to the acts which just happen to be the best? |

I agree, Danyl was very good but it was so contrived (not Danyl's fault though).

Someone should go through all the series' and count how many times Simon has said stuff like 'I can't do this anymore'. It's all part of the show, not genuine. They knew Daniel was coming, they couldn't not know he was coming seeing as Simon has to be in on everything the production team does. Their job is to make a TV show with some 'drama'.

Couldn't of made it anymore obvious now, even 3 year olds are expecting the dross they pedal! Simon should stick to judging too.

What annoys me more, is those stupid faces they make. It's all so staged.

Just think, they have 1000s of hours of footage from every venue including 1000s of shots and reactions from the judges - they can edit that to look any way they want.
It was shown up on Screen Wipe once where one of the female judges reaction was something like "Yeah, right on!" to one singer and then several singers later they use exactly the same reaction clip to a completely different singer "Yeah, right on!". They don't do it to the point of making the judges out to be something they are not, but all they have to do it have one shot of simon say "Right that's enough, I quit" then they will cut in any old close up of the other judges looking shocked. The second shot could have been earlier or later but certainly not at the time. It's show editing and they are all about making a show. That is why they accept singers that just can't sing whilst good singers are rejected by the production team even before they get close to seeing the judges. That is why the show opens with misleading lines like "100,0000000000000" people turned out this year" of which, 150 got to be videoed and they actually used 50. They don't care about reality, it's all to make a (what they think) gripping show - so walk outs, tantrums and sob stories are just great TV for them. |

It's all very staged, we were told what to scream and when and we were conducted by the warm up guy in our cheers. The producers know and prompt the judges on what the acts are going to be like from that, by which time MOST of the people you see in those crowds have been rejected for not being quite freakishly bad enough. At least 90% of them. |

X Factor is one of the most post-produced and contrived shows on TV. Anyone who thinks the process runs as we are shown it, or is a credible talent contest, is naive in the extreme.
It simply exists to make money from the adverts and sponsorship surrounding it, from the premium rate voting lines, and for Simon Cowell. Short of blatent lies, they will and do use every trick in the book to keep an audience and achieve their aims. |

If you look closely you will see what the judges are wearing changes from shot to shot, even though they are supposed to be watching the same group of acts from the same audition. They made it look like the London auditions were coming from the O2, they auditions in front of the judges were actually held at the Excel exhibition centre. Purely editing, nothing else. |

It has nothing to do with knowing what was coming. It is all down to editing the program after the auditions.

I noticed that last night, I'm sure not only did they change clothes but they changed seating arrangements from one glance at each other re: a particular act to the next glance, about the same act. Mind you, I'm not complaining the amount of dross they have to see, least we just see the best and the worst. |

The trouble with such tricks is some people, far more observant than me or indeed the people making the show, spot these things. |

They do it most weeks let alone most years. The show needs a narrative and there are only so many roads they can take. It's the same with any show, really. Top Gear particularly stands out (but it's still brilliant!).
