Well folks its almost that time again. The starting bell is about to be rung signalling not only the start of our beloved Strictly but the arrival of that seasonal migrant, the people who only post on the Ds during the show.

Therefore I would like to take this opportunity before we are 'invaded' to raise a glass in salute to those of us who inhabit this forum during the 'off season'. It has as always been a pleasure.

So be prepared for our beloved threads that we keep dusted and cared for all through the summer to be instantly rubbished and sent to page a zillion and one, and we will join in and get drawn into it all (as always) but take heart this time too will pass and come the end of the series and the next tour (to a lesser degree) we will once again be left to the peace and quiet that is the SCD DS forum board during the summer.

I salute you all and see you on the flip side.

Only joined last December, but have been here ever since

Anyway, as katie_p says, good thread! I will be on high alert to try and keep my favourite threads on page one

I have signed up for the bbc board again, but it's looking a bit messy there, so don't know if I will make much use of it

What date does it start?

I joined the day after the final last year so I've never been her for "peak season"

Brilliant thread Jan , and you are so right.....before we know it, all hell will have broke loose and all us with particular favourites will be drawn into battles and arguments like old mother hens defending her little chicks from the 'Big Bad Wolf'

I wonder if we should have the 'Spoiler' thread complete with Panda webcam and virtual drinks and nibbles just for old times sake.

You know on the phone vote programmes, where they tell you "Do not call after XXXX as your vote won't count, but you will still be charged". Obviously, there is an ongoing problem with people calling after the lines are closed - probably on ALL of the "vote" comps.

Presumably those who do vote late are the same ones who come up with the "Where is Karen/Camilla/charity money," etc etc. threads.

Someone once said "No one ever went broke underestimating the stupidity of the public".

Oh probably although I think she did announce it at the end of the series didnt she so perhaps a few will have seen that but only time will tell if they have remembered.
