Help for a Newbie

I'm looking at getting my first lot of separates and am going for

Yamaha RXV1000RDS + Pioneer DV838D DVD Player, but I'm having problems deciding on speakers.

Ideally I'd like a set of 6 surround speakers, but am willing to be persuaded otherwise.

I've got about £400 left in my budget to get the speakers out of, can anyone suggest some (The bloke in the shop is trying to sell me the KEF2005 's for £800, but there's no way I can afford that)
