I remember reading that Simon chose to do audience auditions after shooting the other ones somewhere else.

So obviously one of the city's they go to, the reactions and things will probably be fake.

Does anyone know which city this was ?

Thanks.

no i doubt that if they got a yes they were garenteed to go through. they probably just had to re audition and if the judges had changed there mind then they wouldn't go through

It was Glasgow. All auditionees then had to re-audition.

For X Factor narrative I'm shocked they never kept the original filming and in a similar style to series 4 () kept the focus on "how it didn't feel right" over about half an hour in Glasgow. Then Simon comes up with the gem of auditioning in front of an audience and suddenly everything is fine again

Then just disregard Glasgow for the rest of the auditions as they did with London in series 4 (show the best/worst and montages as fast as possible in about half an hour).

I thought this would happen too.

They actually showed Glasgow in a fairly positive light last night. They usually make out that their day at the Glasgow auditions has been "disasterous"/"abysmal"
