It's amazing when you think back on what they achieved and in such a short space of time.

Take a look at this. I think it doesn't really do it all justice but it's a good indication.

I loved the Spice Girls (and still do love them)!!! The tour last year was awesome - I was right at the front of the catwalk and the whole thing is like a blur cuz I was just so amazed and couldn't believe how close I was!!

They were a brand at best representing everything wrong with the industry. Most of the music hasn't aged well hardly ever played on the radio these days. Though I like the odd one I guess

I went to a recording of the Des 'O Conner show at the end of 1997 when they sacked their manager (because they were stupid talentless fools) Geri kept swearing and they had too keep redoing parts. Victoria still had the label on the bottom of her shoes......

Though to be fair looking back they were a dam sight better than the awful pop around at the time.

A sold out world tour and a greatest hits that sold 2 million copies not good!

Yeah , I know the tour and that went well but their single and greatest hits didn't get to no1

Plus they got a lot of bad press did they not?

I loved them, and i still do

Although i felt their reunion ended a bit sour. They were let down by really bad planning and a team who didn't have a clue what they were doing. Ditching there tour and disappointing fans across the world wasn't a good move. And then they don't even release a DVD Don't get me started on Headlines. I remember that when their comeback was announced Mel B said they had loads of unreleased tracks to share with us... i'm still waiting. Headlines and Voodoo were shit!

I saw them at the o2 though and they were brilliant

It doesn't matter that the Greatest Hits didn't get to number one. It still sold two million copies, it sold an awful lot given 'Spice' sold over 20 million copies in 3 years. Most albums don't sell over two million thesedays let alone Greatest Hits. And no artist no matter who they were would have kept Leona Lewis off the top of the albums chart. Do remember this was a Greatest Hits and not a new album.

And I don't think they had any bad press. The reunion was a big success apart from Headlines only hitting 11, Geri, Mel B and Emma are always getting great press infact.

However as the person above said the tour ended too soon and we never got the DVD of it. So they did let fans down.

They put on a fantastic show and on that front the tour was a massive success. The Greatest Hits sold well but Headlines was just appalling and shouldn't have happened. Maybe as an album track it was nice but not as a single, they should have just released a cover song, but I know Mel C is dead against covers. Its a shame the George Michael track never worked out and I agree about all the missing singles. The 3rd 'pop' album before Geri left was dropped in place of the R&B route they went down with the real 3rd album 'Forever' despite being half done and recorded in the first part of 1998. None of these tracks have ever come to light. Yet there must have been about 5 or 6 at least. I will not forgive Geri for leaving before its release. I think she limited the whole success of the band by years.

Haha same here I have their Spice album and their Greatest Hits. I think Spice was an underrated album really, even though there's only 10 songs on it the ones that weren't released as singles are quite good. I did love them back in the day though

I used to love the Spice Girls as a child and still secretly do. I would love another reunion down the line as i missed out on the last tour. Never Give Up On The Good Times was my favourite song

Im also looking forward to some of the new solo stuff.

I LOVE the Spice Girls! I use present tense because I'm nearly 30, have loved them since I was a teenager and probably won't ever stop loving them. The tour was fantastic, and I really hope they get back together again in the future.

Mel B I think is keen on a future Spice reunion

Never Give Up is one of my absoloute favourites. It was meant to be a double A side single release with Viva Forever, however it was dropped when Geri left So they concentrated on a video for Viva Forever instead and that was it.

I would love a reunion...BUT with time taken on the album itself....i think it will be interesting....have always loved Mel C writinv and her vocals!

She has her next album out this year and she said in this weeks Q mag that a Sg reunion could be still on the cards but her next album will come first and then we will see.....i want it to happen!

Take That style, with a massive album with interesting songs!

Definitely and a potential for people to fall back in love with the phenomenon. Had high hopes for their reunion and really wanted it to be for them what it was for Take That. So keeping my fingers crossed that the Musical could pave the way to a second (proper) reunion
i have moved the conversation. if that is ok with you?

i think the difference with the two groups, is the spice girls don't really need the money. they cleaned up the first time around. if the musical is successful it may be the final nail in the coffin.

Yep, that's all cool - How did you manage to do that though? Didn't know you could do this

And you might be right there. they keep talking of doing something together soon again but the truth of the matter is the more time they take before getting back together the more improbable a 'true' Spice Girls reunion as making a new album and going on tour - will be

i just typed in `spice girls` in to the search bar on the forum menu. then i found the appropriate topic!

i would love for them to go something again. i`m sure now they are older and wiser it may work. however, they would have to be motivated by something other than money..

Yes, the fact they are older, established in their own way and wiser could definitely make it work. As you said though they would need to be motivated by something more or other than money and that's what will probably stop the making of a new material in the near future...
