Does anyone actually not care about the music?
I'll be honest, I only watch this show for the entertainment and an excuse to have a bitch about it on DS. I am a shameless reality TV addict and have nothing better to do. None of the contestants have ever released a good album or song and most of the songs they choose to sing on the show are terrible.
I would like to see the most appealing contestant win... not because they will release a great album (they won't), but because they are not as godawful as, say, those twins from the Glasgow auditions or the boring idiot whom Simon dubbed "the best first audition [he] ever saw". I know this is likely to ruffle a few feathers, but I have a sneaking suspicion I am not alone here. |

Of course Bleeding Love was cr*p - that's why it is the best-selling single of the decade and number one in numerous countries. And Run was equally bad, which is why it flopped even worse than Bleeding Love.Have to say, I agree with you. |

OP, I wouldn't say that every album/song has been bad. Bleeding Love is probably one of the best songs of this decade. It may not be to your particular taste, but it is a very commercial-friendly track. There aren't many others like it, imo. Quote:

I'm sure there are many people like that. It is an entertainment show and it is a good laugh
. Personally i do watch it for the music. I love music so much that the prospect of finding a new singer is exciting. I want the best singer to win but i'd like to see an entertaining act, like the twins, make it to judges houses at least

Fair play to Leona... she sells a lot of records and will probably continue to do so for many more records, but I still don't like her music, lol.

I know this is likely to ruffle a few feathers, but I have a sneaking suspicion I am not alone here. The suppressed giggles of the judges during auditions and their comments after each contestant has performed during the live shows. However, for one series only that changed and I actually found a contestant to support and still do 2 years down the line. Each week I'd be cursing at the guests to get off my bloody TV screen so that we could get to the results. Hoping each week that my fave would get through and relieved when he did. It's far more relaxing when you go through a series without supporting anyone in my opinion. When I say supporting that to me is actually bothering to pick the phone up and vote. I've only done that once. Hopefully this series will be a stress-free one for me - I don't wanna go bald!

Personally, while the show has produced a few good songs and one very talented singer in particular the music it churns out is not to my taste.
The winners have very little input in the music they make, the winners singles are meaningless, soulless covers and there's so little variety away from 2 or 3 popular genres. So I love the show, but not the music for the most part! |

It's nice to see the contestants do well after the show but I watch X Factor because I think it's alot of fun.

I'm not really interested in the music at all at this stage. I didn't watch the first Pop Idol and only wantched the second because I happened to catch an audition show. I was facinated by the really bad deluded (not mentally ill or intellectually challanged) ones. Then by the time the audition stage was over, I was interested enough in some of those who got through to stick to bootcamp and then to the live finals.
When we get to the live finals I am looking for musical ability but at the moment I am in freak show mode

You are entitled to your personal opinion on Leona but the facts speak for themselves. This show has produced an extremely credible artist who has had a massive amount of success. So while she may not be to your taste it doesn't change this fact.
