I know that it's unlikely but I think the Super Cup should alternate between the FTA rights holder of Champions League and Europa League which in this case ITV1 and Five but I guess that UEFA want it to have more exposure.

Looks like ITV are trying to fill the gaps in their Saturday schedule for the first part of next year (until BGT in April). They've got about 13 or 14 weeks to fill. And from last year, they have axed Primeval, Demons, The Colour of Money and there is still no word on the future of Saturday Night Takeaway.
So far: The Whole 19 Yards Take Me Out Harry Hill's TV Burp You've Been Framed And we know that they're looking at replacements for SNT. One pilot being made with Vernon Kay and another show in development with Ant & Dec's company, Gallowgate. Plus, rumours have circulated that Andrew Lloyd Webber could take his shows to ITV1. I think they need to try and get A&D in there somewhere. I don't see why they shouldn't try a dating show and Paddy McGuiness could make it quite funny and laid back. The Whole 19 Yards sounds OK as well. But too many new shows can be a difficult sell, they could use a name to get viewers there in the first place. |

What's the Whole 19 Yards going to be about? Is it a gameshow?
"Take Me Out" sounds OK, though they could have come up with a more inspiring title. If it's a show on a big scale, then I think it could grab a big audience. |

The format of the show has contestants answering trivia questions. Before they can answer the questions, however, they have to race across an intense obstacle course in order to buzz in.

The BBC have also got a new adventure gameshow called '101 ways to leave a Gameshow'. I haven't seen anything official about it, but it was reported in the Daily Mirror the other week, that one of the show's swimming pools had ruptured, flooding the set. And I think its being made by Endemol.

I imagine that broadcasters worldwide always see how a version of a new show does in one or more countries before commissioning their own version as I think the success of Wipeout in the US paved the way for versions worldwide such as Total Wipeout in the UK.

I reckon the Krypton Factor could do well in a Saturday tea-time slot.
Perhaps extend it to 45 minutes, put in an extra round or two. No point wasting it against Eastenders, when Countrywise, Grimefighters & Tonight could do that job. |

Only thing worth noting in the BBC Press Pack on BBC One is that the "BBC PROMS 2009
Last Night Of The Proms – Part Two" is on BBC One, so the schedule for Saturday 12th September goes: 20:10- Casualty 21:00- BBC News 21:20- BBC Proms 2009: Last Night of the Proms - Part 2 22:55- Match of the Day 00:15 to 01:30- The Football League Show And a few new/returning BBC Two shows: - Home Time (comedy) - Design For Life - Later Live ... With Jools Holland (begins Tuesday, 15th September) |

Five signs up Justin Lee Collins:
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/a1740...e-of-five.html I like JLC but the stuff he's fronted has been hit and miss and doesn't strike me as a light entertainment host plus it signal the end of the Friday/Sunday Night Project unless Channel 4 wants to reinvent it with new hosts or Channel 4 and Five come up with a compromise to have one last show at Christmas with Alan and Justin. |

I'm sure this is the best place to ask, but does anyone know if BBC 2's comedy Lab Rats was recommisioned for a second series? And if Pschoville is coming back for a second series?

I though Alright on the Night would be a repeat given that it wasn't listed on the ITV PI ?
STV are showing Single Handed on Monday nights, when ITV1 show Blue Murder. They must be showing it in 6 x 1 hours rather than 3 x 2hrs. So some new drama for STV at least. |

The Radio Times website doesn't list Alright as a repeat but see what you think from the list of celebrities blooperers if it sounds familiar. http://www.radiotimes.com/ListingsSe...s_fullpage.jsp The Casualty on Sat 12th Sept is the first in a two-part story with part 2 unplaced later in the week. I thought ooh, it can't be Sunday, that's full-up with CountryFile, Antiques Roadshow and Waking The Dead. They must be showing it in a weekday slot. Wednesday? Thursday opposite The Bill? But then I saw from the RT website that Antiques on Sept 6th is a repeat, not the first in a new series, so Casualty will be on on the Sunday as it always is with a 2-part series opener. Borriinngg!! (The scheduling, not the programme.) |

I was thinking of it as an ITV acquisition - a regular 2m+ guaranteed weekday audience will outrate some of the prime-time flops ITV have had of late, and the endless associated shows and live streams seem ideal for ITV2.
I only wonder if BB might just be a bit too highbrow for ITV? Quote:
Wednesday 26th August 16-34
ITV 12.4% ITV2 total * 4.1% BBC1 8.2% Channel 4 total * 10.7% E4 total * 4.1% |

Without wanting to go into a lot of detail, as I understand there are probably non-footie fans here, the UEFA Champions League draw has been announced: http://www.uefa.com/multimediafiles/...3_download.pdf For each matchday, ITV are looking at one Wednesday game for each matchday. I suspect they will pick for ITV1: Matchday 1 - Liverpool vs. Debreceni Matchday 2 - Man Utd vs. Wolfsburg Matchday 3 - Chelsea vs. Atlético Madrid Matchday 4 - Lyon vs. Liverpool Matchday 5 - FC Porto vs. Chelsea Matchday 6 - Olympiacos vs. Arsenal Some of the Man Utd games, on paper, don't look as strong as the two Chelsea games above. Which set is stronger though? The ones above or last year's picks: Quote:
Matchday 1 - Marseille vs. Liverpool: 4.1m [19%]
Matchday 2 - Arsenal vs. FC Porto: 3.4m [15%] Matchday 3 - Man Utd vs. Celtic: 5.3m [23%] Matchday 4 - Liverpool vs. Atlético Madrid: 4.7m [20%] Matchday 5 - Villarreal vs. Man Utd: 4.7m [20%] Matchday 6 - Chelsea vs. CFR Cluj: 3.4m [15%] |

I doubt Arsenal will get shown on matchday 6 unless they haven't qualified by then and Liverpool have. Liverpool v Fiorentina will probably be matchday 6. |
