I notice ITV1 are sneaking in a few movie premieres, we've had The Constant Gardener with Miami Vice and United 93 scheduled.

Anyone know what other movies they have in this season as unusually they didn't feature in the Autumn Press Packs ?

On the subject of 9/11, C4 have two shows which will probably do well. 9/11 : Calls from the Towers on Sun 6th and 9/11 : 102 minutes that Changed America on Mon 7th both at 9pm.

C4 have the premiere of World Trade Centre on Sat 5th, with ITV1 showing United 93 on Sun 6th.

I'm sure this is the best place to ask, but does anyone know if BBC 2's comedy Lab Rats was recommisioned for a second series? And if Pschoville is coming back for a second series?
Lab Rats has been axed - http://www.noisetosignal.org/2009/04/oh-for-fu. Dunno about Psychoville.

The Bill will struggle again tonight, a lot of opposition.

BBC One : New Tricks
BBC Two : Mock the Week
Five : Football
ITV2 : What Katie Did Next (I know it's an acquired taste, but it might get numbers like the Andre special)

Do we know if ITV are obligated to show each club at least once during the group stage, or is it purely first pick?

In theory, having no match on ITV4 should boost the figures by a few hundred thousand (those who can't watch on Sky).

Psychoville has not yet been recommissioned. Richard Bacon tweeted that he spoke to someone involved.

..plus Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire next Wednesday @ 19:00.

...but people could watch Sky anyway knowing that they are allowed to from 22:00 broadcast highlights of the ITV games.

Apologies if already mentioned, but on Thursday 10th September, BBC are playing the New Tricks "repeat card" against The Bill. On the Friday, the Best of Live at the Apollo goes up against a Rebus repeat.

What about Doc Martin?! Why not that (or something else new) in the Friday slot?

That's not actually a premier, it first went out last October.

Because they wouldn't want it going up against Strictly Come Dancing .

There'll probably be repeats in that slot until 2nd October.

Wonder when we will see HP Order of the Phoenix on ITV1, will it be this year ? Perhaps it could be a lead in to X Factor on a Sunday later in October, like last year ?

ITV Harry Potter Premieres

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (3 Dec 2005)
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (13 Jan 2007)
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (5 Oct 2008)

All reports have suggested it is a pure 1st pick.

There has been no mention anywhere of any requirement to show each English club at least once. I am 99.9% certain there is no such requirement.

I hope it isn't. It was easily the best thing on TV this year, but something I think which should be left as one series, even if the conclusion to some extent didn't do the show justice.

Conflicting reports on Krod Mandoon. I assumed it was heading straight for the axe, and reports this weekend suggested that was the case due to the American partners pulling out, but the BBC have said if a new co-producer is found a second series will go ahead.

The One Show's 60 minute episodes are going on Friday nights - as I predicted

I thought Wednesdays would be a waste given that Coronation Street is gone now, as the biggest advantage of doing them was that it held up well against it.

So, this is the format that ITV are bringing to screens next year. It's the RTL version of Take Me Out :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLMJ-...eature=related

The contestants (in this case the women) stay on the show until picked, a bit like Deal or No Deal.

Weird that it piloted for C4, doesn't seem their kind of show at all. Paddy McGuinness is an unusual choice, not being on the roster of usual ITV presenters. Seems like a Vernon kind of show.

Another interesting thing from that above article...

Chiles on… turning down ITV
“Michael Grade’s a great guy, Peter Fincham’s a really nice bloke. It was a really good job and sorely tempting - the same money for a lot less work, just presenting football a couple of times a week - but it was becoming apparent we were onto a good thing here.”

lmao... I thought you wrote RTE.

I'm watching it quite happily for 56 seconds until I realise it wasn't extremely strong Irish accents I couldn't hear right, but its actually German.

Thanks to those who posted about Lab Rats/Physcoville, tis a shame Lab Rats went, as stupid as it was it had a charm, i really do hope we see a second series of Pschoville though, but i agree that 2 series would be enough

Take Me Out seems like a good format but I wonder if any Broadcaster would ever consider making a British version of The Bachelor/Bachelorette which has successful in America.

BBC three made an version an few years ago, when the channel relaunched from BBC choice to BBC three

Yesterday seems low for the Champions League football, but it did beat the Cluj v Chelsea rating from last year. Least it gave ITV a stable if unimpressive rating for the night. Dragon's Den and Shooting Stars both did brilliantly, building on weak competition. I just wonder how long before BBC1 moves an episode of EastEnders to Wednesday - the temptation must be great now. I'd probably move Tuesday's episode, simply because that's the night ITV have little competition and Holby'll bring in the viewers at 8.

What's the Whole 19 Yards going to be about? Is it a gameshow?

"Take Me Out" sounds OK, though they could have come up with a more inspiring title. If it's a show on a big scale, then I think it could grab a big audience.
Anybody else get the feeling that Franz Ferdinand's hit single 'Take Me Out' is going to be the theme music for the show? The title of the show looks to be deliberately set up to match with the song.
In recent years TV shows have become ever more predictable in doing that sort of thing.

I've always been slightly disappointed that Who Do You Think You Are doesn't use the Spice Girls song as its theme tune.

ITV should bring back Man-o-Man, cult Saturday night 90s show hosted by Chris Tarrant. Was a big fan of it in my student days. God knows why they axed it.

F1 piece of news which may effect ratings for final race:

FORMULA 1: Start time of final grand prix of season in Abu Dhabi changed to make it twilight race

The start time has been changed to 5pm that'd make it in-line with the 1pm UK start.

Presumably so it'd be a "later" daytime European move.

I suspect for 2010 it'd be made a night race so the final 2 rounds can be in European peaktime.
