at Jimmy's Food Factory, highest BBC1 ratings of the day and with the sort of figure a lot of programmes would be very happy with.

They are very strong numbers. Didn't that transfer from BBC2. Won't be long before it finds itself a much better slot of those ratings continue.

Very average for the football once more. Tne big numbers never seem to kick in until after Christmas these days. People take the English clubs getting through as a bit of a formality.

Bon Jovi and JLS confirmed for X Factor on November 1st.

The BBC Press Office has Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday 7 November down for 6.25-8.15pm meaning X Factor could run from 8.15pm-10.00pm and no clash between the two shows whatsoever.

The Festival Of Remembrance will be on that Saturday, hence the earlier slot.

That explains it then. I was getting slightly worried for Merlin there with it keep getting pushed earlier and earlier each week.

Oh right, didnt know that. Casualty is on from 8.25-9.15pm so The Festival of Remembrance must being starting around 9.15pm.

The BSI have done it again. They start a new series of 'The Impressions Show' the previous week, but it looks like on the 7th of November it won't even be shown !

Why didn't they just launch it on November 14th?!

Edit: And 17:40 is a very early start for Merlin! Ridiculously early. Surely it would have been better to bump Casualty off for a week and go with:

It was commisioned as a pre watershed comedy, but ITV's new Thursday soap schedule spoilt that plan. So it's being shown on Saturday nights after 9pm.

With a week gap, that show will now run until Boxing Day.

Excellent for Jimmy's Food Factory, but it may suffer being up against Corrie next week. Nevertheless BBC1 should have a solid schedule for the next few weeks with Jimmy/Waterloo Road/Spooks.

The BNP’s appearance on Question Time tonight is being mentioned everywhere! Just today, The Wright Show, Loose Woman and The Alan Titchmarsh show has had an item on it and not to mention all the news programmes, I wonder what ratings it will get?

IMO I underestimated it in the predictions game (2.5m) , what do others think it will get? I think it will defo get 3m+

It'll definetly get over 3m but like the MPs expenses which also got over 3m, it is a one-off and it will go up to its 2-2.5m next week. I'm not surprised that it's remained in its 10.35pm slot because it didn't do well at 9pm when Jay Hunt moved it there for a one-off in the summer plus New Tricks repeats are performing well and beating The Bill.

What on earth are ITV playing at if that's true??

I think it hasn't been moved because I think the Beeb would be heavily criticised if it was moved to 9pm.

Seems strange if true, I think it would be easier to move to one of the PSB slots on Tuesdays or Thursday or just leave it on Monday, unless ITV wants yet another shuffle of the soaps again.

The only possible reason I can see is possibly moving Corrie back to Sundays, because if DOI moves its main show to Saturday it would free up a lot of space on Sunday. But it would seem stupid to ruin an extremely good Friday schedule.

Isn't the DOI spin-off and Paul O'Grady's new chatshow for Fridays? they could keep the Friday 7.30pm but move the 8.30pm one to Sundays and keep Tonight on Mondays which would be a win win for ITV1 and BBC One who would be able to use the 8.30pm slot for comedy.

With Tonight taking the 7.30pm slot on Fridays from January, what the hell are they doing with the soaps in the new year? ANOTHER reshuffle?

I'm very worried for Merlin. It's going to be part of the football results at this rate. Why bother spending all that money making it and then bounce it round the schedules like a nusience? They should go back to having the main SCD show and a later results show. It gives them more flexibility for scheduling and the current padding while people are voting is very boring and an invitation to turn over to the other side even if you've resisted till then.

Looking at the scenes now on Sky News, I'll be very surprised if the show goes on without any problems, really.

Can see high viewing figures though.

Quite. Letting the BNP have the representation their report sadly entitles them to is one thing. Shifting to 9pm would be giving them undue prominance. I'm guessing at somewhere around 4 million for QT tonight. Perhaps higher to begin with - though I think people will drift away in time as it won't be as dramatic as some seem to expect.

Looks like another soap re-shuffle for ITV. :yawn: Apart from Sundays, the only other move I can think of is Corrie to 8.30pm Tuesdays - try and force Holby to Wednesdays against the football, and establish 8m+ lead in to another 9pm slot. I don't think it'd do wonders for Corrie itself though - trying to get the grannies to switch on Thursdays (with an ED lead-in) has been difficult enough.
