Looks as though (apart from c5) multichannel was the big winner at 9pm:
At 9pm: BBC1 gained 0.15m BBC2 lost 0.4m ITV1 lost 5.1m C4 gained 0.3m C5 gained 0.95m Overall, the terrestrials lost 4.1m viewers at 9pm! K |

Strictly Celebrities...
Jo Wood, Ricky Whittle, Phil Tuffnell, Rav Wilding, Laila Rouass, Zoe Lucker, Craig Kelly, Jade Johnson, Chris Hollins, Martina Hingis, Ricky Groves, Richard Dunwoody, Natalie Cassidy, Joe Calzaghe, Lynda Bellingham, Ali Bastian Seems ok, I guess. Phil Tuffnell was seen auditioning for Dancing on Ice, so its good to see he kept his options open. Not really a big huge name in it though - no-one you would tune in especially to see. Joe Calzaghe maybe. |

I somehow had a feeling "The Boyle Effect" would mean that TV shows in America would be keeping a close eye on The X Factor. Guess I was right... |

Is he the "action man" off the BBC news channel? The one who does all the "odd sports" reports.

It's all a bit contrived really. They were pushing the 'best first audition' rubbish before the show had even aired. The beauty of the 'Boyle' effect was that her popularity was completely unexpected - even to the producers.

To answer an earlier question Eammon and Ruth ARE staying with This Morning and in fact are doing all of next week - its first week back after the summer break.
I read somewhere that the reason was that Holly was committed to The X Factor next week and for obvious reasons they did not want to kick off the new 'dream team' of presenters with just Phil on his own or with someone else. |

2.6m again for Would I Lie To You, not bad at all for the 10:35 slot (well it beat thier 9:00 offering anyway
) Does it look likly that it will be recommissioned in the same slot?

Fantastic rating for The Hotel Inspector matching BBC1. It has really taken off this series and I can see FIVE capitalising on its success and having some sort of spin off show like The Shop Inspector (similar to Mary Queen Of Shops). The Hotel Inspector must be one of FIVE's top rated homegrown shows ever. I expected at least a million more from BBC1 in the 9pm slot considering the weak competition, but later on WILTY seems to be doing well in the 10.35pm slot and it seems to have been a good move to move it from Friday 9pm. |

Five have had a great summer with CSI:Miami, The Mentalist pulling in a steady audience, the cricket highlights doing very well, The Hotel Inspector and The Gadget Show pulling in their highest audiences and even the repeats of the US shows are doing well especially NCIS which is rating as well or better than last year. |

Secondly, glad Eammonn and Ruth are staying, but they'd have been better off holding back This Morning a week rather than launching for four days without their new partnership. |

Eamon & Ruth are presenting for the first two weeks. Phillip and his bland new dolly bird are back the 3rd week in sept.

That must be one of the lowest 9pm slot winning ratings of the year !
So, the SCD Friday editions will surely have to be 90 minutes, so looks like a Corrie clash on the way. |
