Am loving the news if a second series of Pshycoville is to be made, although whether it can keep up with the fantastic quality of series one will have to be seen. I'm surprised Harry and Paul is getting recommisioned at all, it had very negative reviews as well as poor ratings if i remember correctly.

The second series was much better received than the first. I thought it had some great moments. However its a curious circle for Harry Enfield who joined the BBC(on BBC2) in the early 90's and then rose to 10 million + stardom on BBC1 with a host of now legendary characters. I wonder if he will eventually return completely to base at Channel 4!

I am a little surprised - its ratings weren't catastrophically bad for the slot, and as I've said many times before, the biggest killer of BBC1 Friday night comedy is the "Friday night" bit.

It's unlikely to get >2m on BBC2, even if given a leg up by something like Mock the Week. Maybe they should sandwich it on Sundays at 10pm between say TG and MOTD2?

I was surprised to see a trailer for FlashForward during Ugly Betty tonight. Looked very good indeed, too. It's quite unusual for Five to pay for an advert on another channel, isn't it? They must have high hopes for it.

The Fixer and CSI being being hit by Jamie and The Choir: Unsung somewhat. Considering it's a weak night overall, I'd expect The Fixer to do better than that. EastEnders did well. Emmerdale always seems to take a dip from Monday to Tuesday.

If a channel have a big show then they do pay ad time to show it on other channels, Channel 4 did it for Peter Kay, Derren Brown and the US imports and Five do it for their US shows. ITV don't do it as much but they do it as well.

I only remember Five doing it once before for Neighbours.

Good to see Richard Woolfe putting a bit of effort into Five and getting people talking about it. It's starting to behave like a proper channel.

I agree and with the exception of LFSF and Farmer wants a Wife which were commissioned and developed before he arrived, I think Five are doing fine and they have solid hits but they need to develop more homegrown shows.

Slightly off-topic but I watched Glee and I really like it and I think it will do well here in the UK but I wish they would tell who has picked it up.

Oh I know channels do it occasionally, I remember Channel 4 advertising Peter Kay's Geraldine thingy during X-Factor for instance. I was just surprised to see Five do it, I wasn't aware of them doing it before. It's good to see.

On a different topic, I know Twitter's trending topics have proved to be a poor indicator of ratings but Glee and Modern Family have been the top two for most of the night. Cougar Town, Criminal Minds and Eastwick have also been in the mix, with Cougar Town trending higher than the other two. I took a quick glance at what people are saying about the two comedies and people seem very enthusiastic about Modern Family, less so about Cougar Town. All of that might mean nothing but it'll be interesting to see if the more talked about shows perform better.

Finally confirmed, it's a good fit for E4, not sure about True Blood which would seem more suited to More4. I hope we see a Big Bang Theory/How I Met Your Mother pair on Thursdays. I wouldn't be surprised if Cougar Town gets picked up by E4 as well. Just need the confirmation that Five have picked up NCIS:LA.

Just read in Broadcast that Five are reviving the Shake Block! with Disney Channel shows like Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place, I'm guessing the deal with FlashForward meant they also got Disney shows plus the odd Disney film with Monster Inc next sunday, they've shown Hunchback of Notre Dame and Treasure Planet in the last few months.

I think Corrie did well last night considering it was out of its 'normal' timeslot. Unfortunate that Wounded did poor - it appears without Scotland, in the 9pm hour it only had about 2.4m.

Plus 2nd series of Chris Moyles Quiz Night is booking from October and Piers Morgan's Life Stories is filming but oddly from two different studios. Next Wednesday he does a show in BBC TV Centre then next Friday does one at The London Studios. Odd.

I see their strategy of having absolutely no shows under 1m viewers is paying off dividends.

I can see Farmer wants a Wife being dumped in the next few weeks or so and replaced with another documentary or a film. I imagine that Paul Merton in Europe will replace it earlier than scheduled or Ross Noble get moved from Mondays to Wednesdays.

Wounded did poorly but programmes about War or soldier never do well with the exception of the Ross Kemp shows.,

An awful night for five. Truely awful.
