The e-mail i got said middle of last week now its next week i am a one cable case

The plan was originally to have available last week, but due to the Loader file not being in the correct format for a download this has been held off.

Is this the only thing it fixes. I have loader 7.51 and it takes for ages to delete anything, but a friend has 7.52 and deleting is very fast. N.B. we both have 03 software.

I have 751 and SD deletes quickly but HD is longer, has he not got HD so everything deletes fast as he hasnt got the larger files?

Remember also newly recorded BBC HD have smaller files.

The comparison that I did on delete times with 7.51 v 7.52 were done some months back. My friends HDR deletes a 1hr HD prog in seconds . I set mine to delete and then go to make a cup of coffee and wait and wait :yawn:

I have replaced the 320Gb disk for a 1TB, but I was getting these ridiculous delete times with the 320 disk.

You should be on 1.03 by now unless you have the hdr connected using only one cable. Loader 7.51 can't update firmware on one cable unless the single cable is switched to tuner 2 manually part way through the process.

V03 only has very minor differences and delete times aint one of them. As Jzee graphically points out BBC HD is now using a much reduced bitrate hence smaller files.

Well it seems Humax are playing deaf on the 7.52 loader now having e-mailed on 1st Oct and again on 8th Oct still no replies, this is after I was told over a month before that it would be on web site in a week that was on 27th Aug
If anyone from Humax is seeing this what the latest Please

Try ringing them up if it that important to you.

I never rely on email for important things. It has been reported here before that Humax appear to have aggressive spam filters, and depending on your ISP or your email address it may never have got through, so it's no use waiting for a reply.

Although in your case you got an email response originally, but I'd still ring them up.

That's not a premium rate number.

Your call will be charged at the rate of a local call (i.e. you calling your next door neighbour).

I pay nothing to call my neighbour as it comes out of inclusive mins 0844 ARE a premium rate number and are charged

If it's important to you, don't get hung up on the principle. It won't cost you much, pennies, or a couple of quid.

How much will you pay for a couple of beers, or the petrol to takes you to drive and post a letter as i do?

Sorry savvy I wasn’t having a go at you after having loads of problems with premium rate numbers mainly 087* ones over £60 worth to skys number alone I have them stopped now and Sky too.
It just pains me when a quick search in Google finds that they COULD be making as much as 4p for every min callers are on hold or hearing menus maybe more.
But even BT says that 0844 is premium rate

That link proves that the bitrate is lower but doesn't exactly answer the original question! What's behind the drop in the bitrate - what's the story?

Moving on from the argy-bargy about whether the phone number is premium rate or not, seems to me that it is not unreasonable to expect an answer by email from Humax to the question of where the download of the v7.52 loader has got to.

HumaxSupport said about six weeks ago that the reason the download hadn't appeared yet was because it was in the wrong format. Surely it shouldn't take SIX WEEKS to get it into the right format? It must simply be a case of taking the binary and building it into an updater for the loader that works from a USB stick - unless maybe the existing loader is broken and doesn't support an update in this way? If so, why not let us all know?

Personally I have the 1.03 update but am still at 7.51. Not a big problem though at present because I have two feeds (from a dual LNB). My guess would be that the loader will only be responsible for downloading and applying updates, so not having the latest version would not be a problem in any other way. But not knowing any details of the code I can't say that for certain! It would be very helpful if someone from Humax could comment on all of this. Please?

Bob_Cat has already posted that 7.52 only adds updating firmware on a single cable and nothing else.

I get green screen issues with my Humax HDR and Sony W2000, I believe its HDMI handshake issues?, is this going to be solved with a firmware update or do I need to return the HDR?

The Sony TV works perfectly with the PS3, Bush HD box and Panasonic DVD via HDMI so must be an issue with the HDR?

Humax have already stated that the hdr is 100% compliant with the hdmi specs. Some displays although not 100% compliant will work fine with some equipment and not others. Your best plan is to contact Sony and ask about a firmware upgrade. There are no problems with my W series sony
