Back from work and its waiting for me

But:

Does it come with a sim?

How do i put my sim in?
do i simply plug into my mac?

Apple have really outdone themselves with the lack of instructions

Instructions are in the box, look for black slim box with half circle cut in it, with sim card pin attached inside

Have you bought it on contract? The instructions for inserting the sim are in the box with a tool is provided to aid the job.
The phone doesn't need a big instruction book. Just what's in the box to get you started.
The rest is on line.....Iphone Manual
that should give you something to chew over...The sim insertion instructions are in there also..
Enjoy your phone.

Being a man I don't think I have ever read instructions, I just ripped it open and guessed what to do and everything went fine lol

I'm sure as other people said there are instructions in the box but do you seriously need them? you pop the sim in and then plug the phone into the Mac with the supplied USB cable.

Are you sure it's not a recon job???? The instructions should be just a series of pictures on a fold out sheet with basic get started instructions.
The tool in what looks initially like a piece of the packaging. I cant remember if it lay on the top or under the phone. Open it up, Its like an envelope, and the tool is in there. If it's a new one that is...

That's just the start of the many horrors that await.

My iPhone spends most of its time on charge. I have to take my old k800i to work, because the iPhone battery is weak.

Are you sure it's not faulty? - my iPhone 3G is a year old and still isn't half discharged after a full day of work?

Yeah mine manages 1 day of heavy use or 2 days of moderate use. I have never had it die during the day no matter how much I use it.

I'm not saying it should be. It's a possibility if things are missing from the box. Basic things like the instruction pamphlet and the sim tool.
Watch this to see what we are talking about.

When you open the box and take the iPhone and the plastic tray it is in out, there should be a small wallet made of card underneath. On the back of this wallet there should be a small bit of metal held in place by a couple of card 'wings' - this is the SIM removal tool - you simply poke the pointy end into the hole next to the earphone jack and the SIM tray will pop upwards.

What about a USB port?! Sound faulty to me to be honest, unless you have excessively large usage. My iPhone gets used a great deal but my battery lasts a full day, (allbeit just about!)

Even farmers get a 12v socket in the tractor...
Seriously though, I'd take it to an apple service centre. Mine lasts all day. Even with surfing and some IPlayer thrown in and collecting all my emails. Oh and the odd phone call and text.
