It appears that different places call the cooked batter bits in a chip shop different names.

Just wondered what you call them where you live?

I call them scrumps.

Scraps. I don't have them anymore though, they are about the most unhealthy thing imaginable.

I've lived up here all my life and never heard them called scraps before.I always used to get asked "Do you want batter on ?".

I'm in Leeds now but have lived in multiple places across the north (started off in Preston and migrated gradually eastwards) - and have always heard them called scraps.

I haven't seen them for years, but I am sure we used to just call them crispy bits..if I remember rightly we used to ask the chippy if we could have a few crispy bits on top of our chips

They call them scraps here in Leeds. I don't think they do them in Liverpool (where I'm from)

Dead unhealthy like but boss! But I am partial to the odd Friday afternoon battered sausage.
