Double yolked eggs

Does anyone know where you can buy these, I have not seen them about for years.

You get them from time to time. i had a double yolk the other day.

They are very rare and you need young hens to get them.

Unfortunately if you buy eggs from supermarkets or farms without knowing the age of the hens laying, it gets difficult to get them.

My Mum used to buy them in packs of 6 in the 80's but a have not seen them about since I have started looking.

Love a bit of yolk I do

we used to get them free from a chicken farmer. Apparently they were the "rejects" he'd look inside with some kind of scanner and keep the singles to grow into chicks, the doubles wouldn't produce chicks. He's sold up now though

I sell eggs, and apparently a lot of ours are double yolkers. I didnt know this, as we only eat the weird looking eggs ourselves !!

Strange you should ask, last weekend I got some eggs from my local farm http://www.whirlowhallfarm.co.uk/ size xl and 5 out of 6 of them where double yokes

Asda used to sell them but I have not seen them in my local one for a while. I buy the duck eggs now. Much nicer.
