Nope (sorry Anton fans ). I just don't think his Latin is strong enough.

Yes and he will show all his doubters what a great latin dancer he is.

I am really looking forward to seeing Anton and Laila dance this year.

I am hoping Anton can come up with some memorable routines, maybe a bit like his dance with Flavia last year.

And I'm sure his latin is more than up to the job!

He's got a great chance this year, will be interesting to see how he deals with a partner that may actually have some talent!

I'm thinking he's been given a pretty good chance as this could be his last year as a professional dancer with the show.

I recalled when Anton got Kate, a lot of forumites (myself included) thought it would be his year. Look what happened.

It's too early to tell, folks (and pssst! don't jinx it!).

Who can say? The lovely Laila may have two left feet.

I hope she can dance. He certainly has a lovely looking partner this year. Oooh I can't wait.

How long will it be until someone insists that Anton "can't do Latin".

JJ (who cant do ANYTHING!)

I don't question his ability to do Latin but, compared to the other pros, his Latin is considerably weaker.

certainly seems like it will be his best chance in years, though that before shes even danced lol!

I like Laila - she comes across well in the interviews I've seen - and she seems a better prospect than some of his partners, but until we see her dance it's hard to say. I hope she does well.

It's too soon to say until we see how able Laila is and whether she and Anton have any chemistry.

I'm hoping Anton has a decent run this time though.

Umm, yes. Maybe because ALL of the others barr Erin are Latin Specialists?! I've seen some distinctly dodgy ballroom coming from some of those Latin professionals! Swings and roundabouts.

Personally, I love Anton to bits, also agree that this year is likely to be his last in a dancing capacity (firmly believe he's being groomed to take over from Brucie), so I'd love for him to do well with Lalia, but I will reserve judgement & hope until I've seen those first dances!

I'm not disagreeing but his Latin does put him at a disadvantage. Don't get me wrong, I think Anton is a cracking guy but I don't think he's the best professional dancer in SCD.

Maybe not (but he always will be to me !), it just gets on my nerves when people constantly harp on about Anton's Latin ability, yet seem to ignore the woeful ballroom of James/Ola/Camilla etc etc. (not a personal remark to you BTW!).

I agree that his latin does let him down.

The past two years he didn't need to be too inventive with his latin choreography (Kate and then out in the first round), but in the first few series, such as with Lesley and Patsy he seemed to let them down a bit. I remember the judges being not to pleased with the samba from him and Patsy as it didn't show of their personalities enough.

James' Ballroom seemed to improve a bit last series, especially his Waltz with Cherie. Although his American Smooth music choice was just shocking He could have made it amazing, and it just fell flat

Antons nearly the same age as Len!

... and SURELY he must be coming towards the end of his time on SCD so perhaps he wants to go out on a high this year??

(Next year if we have some newbies can we have some new MALES please? We are always getting loads of new female pros but v little movement re: the male pro's. (Brian being a notable exception...)

I really hope this is Anton's year. He has served his time and deserves a good partner for once.

Erin deserves a good run aswell this year.

She should have won twice by now so seeing as she hasn't won once I hope she does well .
