Ipod Touch problem!
Al_T3D

Hi, I, or rather my wife has a 8gb 1st gen Ipod touch, had it almost 2 years now, so it's out of warranty. She's not used it an awful lot really, but for a few months now it's not been unwell, Actually when I say a few months, probably nearer 6 -8 months, but I have been a bit lazy with sorting it out. Here's the problem, it loses it's charge pretty darn quick, even without any use, but it's worse than that even. When I have it plugged in to my Mac it's OK, seems to work fine (when charged) but when it's unplugged it won't really turn off, and when it does it won't turn on again, and just flashes the Apple logo, I hold down the home and top button, which used to work in the early days, but doesn't now. It's f***ed it seems, and to get it repaired is about the price of a new one! Has anyone else had this issue, and can they suggest anything to help?

Have you tried restoring it, but a full restore e.g. not installing a backup? The battery will be on its way out, theres no two ways about it.
The 3G touch should be out at the beginning of next month so you're best of upgrading to that or getting a cheap 2G off eBay.
