just out of sheer nosiness () i wondered what treats everyone gives their pets, and if not, what are your reasons? our kittens LOVE prawns, and i'll occasionally get a smart prive pack of cooked prawns which they wolf! they also get some sandwich meat (once again, smart price, only the best for roxy and scooby ) once or twice a day if they are behaving nicely - they like to play rough! when we had a dog, he would get ALL our leftovers - fruit, veg, rice, pasta, cereal, toast, everything! the guinnea pigs we had used to love broccolli - which was handy, cos i'd buy it for the family, and only me and the guinnea pigs would eat it

My Impossible Princess loves "Dreamies" and those 40 pence Thomas cat treats which last months and months as she doesn't get many per day.

My cats get a rare tin of tuna (in spring water) which they go crazy for. One of them is on a strict diet though so they don't get treats very often.

The dog gets all sorts. He loves tripe sticks (i don't.... they stink!) and frozen carrot sticks or his Kong filled with his dry food mixed with a bit of peanut butter. He also knows the sound of a packet of rich teas being opened. He's thin as a rake though and we've been battling to get some weight on him for months so anything he'll willingly eat as long as it's dog-safe I'll let him have, within reason.

The rodents get an occasional bit of fresh veg/fruit and plain popcorn.

Never tried the kitties on tuna! I buy those frozen coley fillets, then microwave one up sometimes as a weekend dinner treat!

There are also packs of treats that they go absolutely crazy for, can't remember the name of them though. I will look them out. They have different types, like ones for breath and teeth, "deefurrems", coat conditioning etc.

One thing they hate is pets at home treats - pretty much any of them. Rarely even bother to eat them, let alone wolf them down like they do with the other types.

My cats get a 'treat dinner about once a week' - either coley, prawns or tinned tuna. And they really like the Whiskas treats - Dentabits and Temptations. They would kill for Temptations

I have a dreadful confession regarding treats for my dogs ~ I usually get free bones from my local butcher & last weekend I got a bagful of pork & lamb bones. Their favourites are beef bones but I didn't get any this week so I bought a rib roasting joint of beef with the intention that we would have roast beef on Sunday & the dogs could have the bones. When I got home I remembered we were going out for lunch on Sunday so I butchered (massacred) the rib of beef so the dogs had the bones, I cut up the rest of the meat for several dinners for them & I gave the fat to the seagulls & crows. So all £28 worth of prime rib of beef has been fed to dogs & seagull! My OH & my mother would kill me if they found out but my dogs "love" me very much.

When I was in America they do ice cream for dogs. It looked revolting.

When I can get them, my cat, Rosie, has Thrive feeze dried prawn treats, which she goes mad for, and occasionally little bit of tuna, but she only eats a tiny bit and she gets bored with it

Shes a funny girl, she doesn't like any fresh fish, or chicken or anything like that

MY dog Danny, has mini marrowbone treats, Bakers alsorts, chew sticks and little bits of cheese (not all in one day lol)
Also, he loves baked beans, so I sometimes let him have just one or two beans if I am having them...no more as I can't imagine they would do him much good.

*Edit.. I may have posted this twice as strange, weird things are happening to my posts, appologies if I have

The cats get Whiskers Temptations/Dentabites and Dreamies as treats. They are so spoilt though they just know to run to the cupboard and sit there looking cute and they get something. Little madams

Daisy though, absolutely LOVES these stick things called Webbox Delight. You can get them in Sainsburys in about 4 flavours. I actually managed to get her to take medicine (impossible usually) by hiding it inside two bits of stick.

The dog will eat anything and usually gets a biscuit for going out to wee (very stupid of us, now she always pretends she wants to go so you have to watch her out the window!) She gets a Bonio per day from my dad, and a chewie at our teatime. Oh and gets to lick out various containers and the cat bowls.

Oh and reading Rosemary's post, the dog loves cheese. She can hear it being taken from the fridge from wherever she is and comes rushing in.

Our beagle is addicted to pigs ears. We get a pack of 4 every week with the food shop and he would eat them all in one go if we let him

He'll eat any 'human' food as a treat though, cheese and pasta are his favourites. He quite likes denti sticks (sp?) as well.

My Mums 3 cats get them too. Last time I was catsitting for them I heard something go crash in the kitchen & discovered one of the cats had managed to find the Temptations tub, I guess they were too tempting for him, he didn't manage to get the lid of though but I took the hint

Our previous cats all loved prawns but not one of the latest bunch like them.

My 2 love both Dentabits & Temptations too.
When they're being little buggers and won't come in at night, I shake the container at the back door and they're like bolts of lightening running in to get them... greedy so and so's

My lab loves Dentastix and gets at least one a day after a walk.
He also loves Pedigree Jumbones. When I'm up at the shop, I usually buy him a Jumbone and he trots home with it in his mouth, packet and all! Funnily enough, unlike on the way there, on the way home from the shop he doesn't feel the need to stop and pee on every lamp-post for some reason

So does my Penny, and when we go shopping we always get her prawns, which she loves. She doesn't eat all of them because I like them too. Now and again she likes sardines and when I roast a chicken she gets the underneath bits.

Our cats have little interest in any but 'Nature's Menu' treats, those they go crazy for!

For the dog we make liver cake, she also gets to lick plates etc. and gets whatever treats are picked up - rawhide, meaty bones etc. She'll eat anything with every sign of appreciation

One of my friends used to treat her 4 cats to a Prawn Ring every Sunday XD

My rabbits get the odd piece of Pineapple or Strawberry sticks, whereas the dog loves things like Felix Chickies (or whatever they're called. They're for cats regardless...)

My old dog used to LOVE pig ears, even though they made a complete bloody mess of the carpet D:

My dog loves Schmackos (we buy Lidls own brand), chicken gravy bones, we buy a 10Kg box and chewies.

He also gets chicken every day as he just wastes dog food.

He also pinches doggy sausages from our newsagent.

My cats get a variety of treats...

Most days i give them cold meat.

Once a week i buy them fresh fish from the fish van which they absolutely love. They seem to prefer raw fish to cooked fish.

I also give them raw mince and they go absolutely mad for it, they get all excited when they know raw mince is coming their way! haha

this might seem like the most stupid statement ever made - it never occured to me that my cats could have raw fish or mince my 2 are only 15 weeks and 10 weeks though, so im not even sure if they can have it yet!

Obviously in the wild they would eat raw meat (rabbits other small mammals). My neighbour gave his kittens raw rabbit which they loved, they were a bit older than your kittens though - about five months old.

I always cook fish, never occurred to me they would eat it raw. The smell of it cooking is what seems to excite them!

I have 2 cats and neither of them are all that keen on fish etc. Ive given them tuna, prawns salmon all sorts and they turn their nose up.

Their fave treats are little lumps of Cheese and cooked sandwich ham!

If i ever get a dominos pizza they will both sit in front of me practically drooling because they want the cheese.

Is cheese bad for cats? Nobody seems to know for sure. I dont give them a huge amount literally the small corner off of the block every couple of days.

If i have a chow mein they also go nuts for the chicken from that.

I love my little monsters/ garbage disposals

My cat was really fussy When it came to food she would eat something and then turn her nose up to it a few days later, so it got to the stage, she would have four bowls in front of her lol, One with cats milk (from pets world), whiskers (gravy) but she would more or less leave the meat, Biscuits (whiskers) and the last bowl would have tuna in it. ( the little tin from asda, used to be 27p )

Of the four on offer, it would be the biscuits and tuna she ate the most.

Oh and if you brought a fish home from the chippie she would jump on the arm of the chair and just stare at you untill you gave her some or start stroking your leg.

Maltersers was a big favorite too, used to eat half and give the other half to her, oh and cheese and onion crisps lol
