It's a rare an amazing feat. I think it's a record? I'm not surprised it's #1 the other songs in the top 10 are terrible IMO. I wonder if I Gotta Feeling will overtake the 12 weeks spent at the top for Boom Boom Pow?Come on make it 24 weeks.

They have big competition from current #2 - Miley Cyrus with Party In The USA, so I can only say they have 1 week left at the top.

Hmm Well 21 weeks is a record.

and then people moan about our charts being boring. they probably still will anyway, but for 1 artist to spend 5 months at no.1 is ridiculous! i'm glad our chart is more competitive!

Run This Town for number one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's the only decent tune in the top 10 (except Taylor). Only if Beyonce would climb

Agreed.

I cannot stand the song either, I'm not a fan of the black eyed peas either.

I think their very over-rated.

yes - they have talent, and yes, they can sing, I will admit that - but their still over-rated.

Gutted for B.E.P. Would love them to widen the record a bit more, but delighted for Miley.

That track has actually surpassed the Climb, at first I thought she just had a couple of catchy hits and would probably disappear soon after Hannah Montana was done with but now I reckon we're going to be hearing from her for years and years to come judging by the consistently good material she's releasing.

I can't stomach her.

What annoys me, is the way radio 1, talk about the B.E.P.S as if their gods - that have revolutonized the pop industry.

as I say, yes they CAN sing, I wont deny that at all,

but legends? no

Is this that Boom Boom song?

I'm confused. It's beyond me how that got to number 1 in the first place, never mind stayed there for nearly 5 months! It's terrible- and I'm not saying that just because I personally don't like it. I've looked at it objectively, but I just can't see the appeal it would have to anyone. It's awful.

Jesus. It's like they've hypnotized the entire USA. But I am getting a little bit sick of hearing 'I Gotta Feeling' literally EVERYWHERE all the time.

I love both songs so am really happy that they broke the record for the longest stay at No.1. I really want them to release 'Party All The Time' as their next single after 'Meet Me Halfway'.

How long did each song stay number 1 here? How has the album sold too?
Taz93

I THINK Boom Boom Pow came to #1 for a week got knocked off and then came back to #1 for another week. I think its the same for I Gotta Feeling. Not sure about the album but I think it has been in the #10 since its release. It hasn't got to #1 yet.

Did Fergie also great a US chart record with her solo album? Something about getting however many top 10 singles off a debut album or something Either way, the American must love their Peas

In the US? That's very impressive. Her album must have done well.
