Basically, in the week before Christmas you have to legally obtain this song. Either buy it as a single from a record shop like HMV or download on i-tunes. You can also pre order it from music shops to avoid disapointment.

Lets wipe the smug grin from the X Factor crowd, bring back the magic of christmas number one, and have this totally cheesy track in the charts for the kids at christmas.

In addition to buying a few copies yourself, tell all your friends, spam other forums, tell your newsagent, butcher, anyone on the tills in Asda and even your taxi drivers.

Lets fight for justice!

I've heard Radio 1 are going to launch a Xmas #1 campaign in November in a bid to block the X Factor winner. Although it will never happen.

But I do agree that all the fun has gone. It used to be fun watching all the mad singles pop up every year. Now no one really bothers. Peter Kay tried his best bless him.

We can make it Agadoo if you prefer but this is why society today has gone to the dogs, you all just sit back, moan while letting it happen.

I am being brave, I am starting a revoloution.

No more playstations for murderers, Half price TV licenses if you don;t watch BBC, And a novelty hit in the charts every christmas for the young ones.

Come on people of Britain. Get up of your obesity ridden backsides and lets put this country back to its former glory!! Rule Britainia!!!

Get Birdie song to Christmas number one and we have taken the first step!

xFactor will make it no matter what anyway

but I do wish some big acts would make an effort and actually do an xmas song!

since the Darkness went all out for Xmas no1 with 'dont let the bells end' and failed...we've not really seen a big effort. The Killers have done a few, but then don't promote them, and neither were the songs their best work.

so come on pop stars and bands, get yourselves in the recording studio!

The Hives and cyndi lauper released 'a christmas duel' last year. It has to be one of the best christmas songs ive heard in a long time. Didnt chart in the UK though i dont think, which is such a shame. Its a bit like the Pogues feat kirsty macoll style. Have a listen this december, made me smile anyway!

I agree with the sentiments behind the campaign but couldn't we have this as the song instead.

This whole beat the x factor thing happens every year.

I think record companies must make just as much money from people buying crap novelty records ironically on iTunes to get them to the christmas number one as they do from the x factor records.

What if the X Factor's winner's song was The Birdie Song.

That said, the winner could break wind for 3 minutes and it would still top the charts. They may as well just take pre-orders now.

It doesn't matter what song is the focus of campaigns - it will have an extremely touch ride if it wants to beat the x factor winners song. And when I say EXTREMELY TOUGH ride, I mean verging on impossible.
