Bargain Basement Restaurants

Which are your favourite bargain places to eat? In Birmingham there is a Vietnamese cafe that do a 3 course meal for £10 or at lunch you can have a main, dessert and a drink for £5. The quality is amazing and the food arrives about 2 minutes after you order it following some of the loudest cooking you have ever heard!

I must also confess to having a liking for the £4 mega-breakfast at my local cafe.

I love street food! I remember walking through a night market in Singapore many years ago with my parents. The smell was wonderful. Also in Tangiers, the smoke from the barbequed lamb kebabs was intoxicating.
It seems that most poorer countries have their own type of street food but the weather isn't really conducive to it in this country. Also, in other countries they have no option but to cook, fresh, locally grown ingredients as that is all that is available to them, and as we all know, spanking fresh simply prepared ingredients are all you need for great grub!
