Not bad - amazon still £255.00

John Lewis also at £249 with 2yr warranty (if thats not standard?).

Perhaps they want to shift them before a new model comes out

I'd go for JL. They have always sorted out any faulty items (my tumble dryer for example). Worth the extra few quid.

the guy from humax on here, recommends the next gen product will be a better deal, there is another freesat pvr to a different company coming soon I'm thinking about ditching the foxsat and moving to that - it has a lot more features, I'm having issues with failed and missed recordings, and you can't delete stuff while recording, no chase record.

The current humax freesat box you stated is a good box - but has a few bugs and lacks many features over the other humax range, we have waited for over 1 year so far for a update to repair the current bugs, so it could be another year to fix the bugs that the next update brings.

The new pvr allows for moving video's onto it in divx, and a zillion new features

The Next update is the iplayer update and due out back end of this year, so it would have taken 1 year just to address the current bugs in the system, after that we were informed there may not be any further updates as so they can work on future models, so we could be stuck with any bugs in the next update, and expect up to 1 year again to get round to any update if any.

so far there not actually doing any tests on the new iplayer update until mid September so in fact it could actually go over to 2010 if there are issues with it.

so by the time we get this Update to address the current bugs it would have been 1 year I should have explained it better in previous post.

Try Richer Sounds. They are doing the HUMAX HDR for £249.95 and for £24.95 extra you get a 5 Year warranty.

If warranty not used you get your £24.95 warranty money back.

It basically means 'secondhand' - it's been returned as faulty under guarantee, then repaired and sent back out as 'refurbished'.

A-Grade is normally factory refurbished to the standard expected of production. No scratches, no marks and packaged correctly with all the accessories.

They are backed by a warranty if an official refurb by Humax.
