I was really enthusiastic about the prospect of my attending the London auditions. Though I haven't yet decided not too, having seen these reports, I'm inclined not to. ”

i would most heartily encourage you to do so-tv presenting might suit you-journalism obviousely doesn't.

I am not a journalist. I am someone who happens to be very fond of this Forum and occasionally posts items from the news that I think may be of interest to other FMs.

Of course if you do not like my 'journalism' feel free not to post on the threads that I start ..... launch some of your own if you can manage it.

Hooray! Thank you, Endemol. This may be the key to my finally overcoming my addiction to BB. ”

lulu, your remark is so true! I actually didn't bother watching the last week of BB4 because I found it so boring - though I felt cheated, because I'd been keen on the format since episode 1, series 1. Now I tend to think that if this one isn't good, it won't be the end of the world.

It's sad that these days I prefer a reality tv show on ITV with fourth rate "celebrities" to Big Brother. I really hope that they prove us wrong, and series 5 is a return to the old days, because I can see the programme getting junked if 5 doesn't work out better than 4 did...

Photos and short article from today's Sun ....

' A DESPERATE telly wannabe shows her credentials for Big Brother — by pulling down her TROUSERS at an audition.

The over-excited blonde was among hundreds who queued for hours in Glasgow, seeking a place on the Channel 4 show.'

Look here.

I suppose this method of picking auditonees isnt too bad. i mean , yes u are getting loads of attention seekers willing to take off their clothes ... dress up etc ... but wasnt that the case with the videos as well? at least with this way you are more likely to get hardcore exhibitionists rather than the ones who strip and run around in a forest/field etc.

I'm not really following your reasoning there, MYOB. How are people who strip and run around in a forest/field distinct from hardcore exhibitionists?, and why would hardcore exhibitionists be desirable anyway? I can't think of anything more likely to make me switch off than a houseful of 'look at me' types. At least with the tried and tested application method the selectors had a rounded view of the applicants, as they based their decision on both the video and the application form. This new method will mark the end of BB IMHO. It's not so much that there are a*seholes turning up to audition, as Endemol can hardly be held accountable for that, but that said a*seholes seem to be being selected.

Is anyone else beginning to hope this is just to get footage for one of those 'What Not to Do To Get on Big Brother' shows ? Either that or the BB producers have an incredibly low opinion of what people are looking for in this years cast...

Well i would imagine that its easier to strip off and run around a field when theres nobody around ( except cameraman ) than to strip off in front of hundreds of people. My point is that if someone is willing to do the latter its plausible that they ARE actually exhibitionists .... rather than the type who THINKS thats what you should do to get on the show and is just putting it on ... at least this way you (more likely ) GET the real exhibitionists.

Never said it would be.
