What have they done to Indi? She actually can act instead of all those grimaces she normally does. Well done to her. Very surprised indeed with how good she actually is.

Zzzzavier is still woeful. Shame they had to bring him back.

Getting a bit tired of the Brax and the "new slapper round town who has so much baggage it's like she is an aeroplane" routine. Can't they just send him to Haiti or New Zealand for a few years?

Just watched the funeral episode-another good one. H&A's on a roll. Also I can't remember the last time an episode featured the entire cast, was nice to see. And it made me realise how much Gina affected characters in the bay, a lot more than I thought.

The funeral was top notch. Almost all the cast were there. Take note Neighbours instead of doing a 5 days later........

I thought the funeral episode was really good. It was nice to see most of the cast there I loved all the students coming in their school uniform. It was simple yet effective. It was a nice touch having Maddy play her violin

The only real bad points of the episode were linked to the Braxtons
- I don't care about Ricky , her secrets or rekindling any storyline with Adam
- I think they were being a bit heavy handed with the whole Casey being there for everyone routine. I didn't think it made sense for Xavier to ask Casey to look out for Jett (as opposed to say April, Dexter or Sasha - people he was actually friends with before he left the Bay). In addition, Tamara needs to STFU.

Yep. Shame it won't last for a while. I'd give it a couple of months at the most.

It was a good funeral and it looked great. Home and Away is filmed in such a lovely way it's almost like an American show. But I agree the bad points were Braxton related, I think the show is badly in need of a period where they all get a rest or go on a holiday somewhere. Sadly if they went on a holiday we'd all be made to go with them and there annoying dramas would dominate.

I thought the funeral was very realistic. They showed things that aren't really shown on soap funerals. Like how everybody came up and sympathized with the family at the funeral, they showed a book of condolences being signed at Angelo's, just subtle things like that made it more realistic.
One thing I didn't like was Spencer giving out the flowers. He's been in town five minutes and doesn't even know Xavier. Would have been a nicer touch had it been Sasha.
It was nice too that Hugo, Martha and Brendan got a mention. Glad Xavier came home, H&A always comes up trumps for weddings and funerals when it comes to bringing cast back.
I'd love another Fletcher get together when Sally comes home

April and Sasha would have been a better bet. I don't like how Maddy and Spencer and Tamara seem to have taken centre stage. It's a tad annoying.

So after all that, Spencer and Maddie have broken up? Makes no sense.

Just caught up over the last few days at Aus pace. I was on holiday at the start of April so fell behind. Everything with Gina has been so sad. And poor Indi I'm fuming at the way they wrote Romeo out though. Such a pathetic ending, and completely unrealistic.

I've always been a Heath and Bianca fan, so I'm loving them as a couple. I'm glad they chose not to elope though. They clearly both want their family and friends there when they do get married.

I don't hate the Braxton's but every single s/l revolves around them it's getting ridiculous.
The Jett adoption storyline, Gina's death, Romeo's cancer storyline, Dex's storylines, Rosie's storyline, Spencer and Maddy... Plenty of SLs that have nothing to do with the Braxton's, so saying every SL revolves around them is quite an exaggeration.

The adoption and Gina's death can be classed as the same storyline and Casey is involved, for some reason Xavier asked Casey to look after Jett. Romeo's cancer storyline also involves Casey who is trying to look after Indi. I think Kyle was also apart of Rosie's storyline.

While not every storyline revolves around the Braxtons, they are certainly involved in a lot of storylines that should be left to others. They also get too many of their own, once one ends, another begins, there are other characters that need and deserve the focus. Then there is the fact that they aren't good guys, no matter how much they have them play the hero, they are baddies, yet when other baddies come in and do things that the Braxtons do, they are meant to be hated, while the Braxtons get away with everything.

I'd hardly class Xavier asking Casey to look out for Jett as being involved in the storyline.

There are 4 Braxtons, they will have lots of storylines. I don't see people complaining about the number of storylines the Walkers have?

I disagree. I think deep down they are good guys, but they have made mistakes and are taking steps to turn their lives around, particularly Heath.

In yesterday's episode Casey had a few scenes with/about Jett, he walked him to school, spoke to him, spoke to John about him and even Tamara about how he can help Jett more and there were more scenes in today's double episode. So I do think that Casey is in the Jett/John storyline. The guy can hardly look after himself.

The Walker's don't have as much screen time as the Braxtons. When Dex was in a car accident and in a coma, they ignored the family in favour of them showing episode after episode of Casey getting into more trouble. Dex, the coma, the family struggling to cope, there wasn't as much focus as there should have and could have been, because the screen time went to the Braxtons.

I do like Heath and I can see him changing, becoming a father and getting together with Bianca has helped that.

Casey may think he is a good guy, but his actions prove that he isn't. He is an arsonist, who while in jail threw a pot of boiling water on someone, he committed a armed robbery and killed his father because he thought he knew better and could take down his father, he basically used Sasha who had fallen for him and ended up hurting her.

Brax is still a bad guy, he wants things his way and thinks he has to be the hero and sort out everyone's problems and for some reason the writers keep doing that, even though the brothers could sort their own lives out, but then if they did that, Brax wouldn't be able to play saviour of the family. And Brax has done and is willing to do bad things, he isn't a good guy.

OK I was watching the Aus ep today I was thinking about Indi I reckon they could have made the Romeo exit so much better by having them go on that trip have him tell her then they left together. Have her come back a few weeks later saying he'd died. Though she is quite good to watch but that would have worked so much more.

I think it is centered around the Braxtons.

Heath and Bianca. Casey and whatever trauma he has going on that week.

Even when Dex had the crash, they overshadowed that with the tedious Casey killing Danny stuff, and then the outback stuff, when the Dex stuff was way better quality. I was really looking forward to seeing Dex get a big story, but it feels like it really got ignored in favour of the whole Casey killed Danny thing, and after that, Casey and Kyle, after that, Adam, Brax and Heath, its always ongoing.

Now theres Casey looking after Indi, Casey looking after Jett. Heath and Bianca being shoved down our throats as the "perfect couple" (still think there is absolutely no depth to their relationship and it drags both characters down) and theres this whole new story with Ricky. Ginas death being overshadowed by the Heath-Bianca holiday

Although it sounds like I do, i dont dislike the Braxtons, its just I would like to see them take more of a backseat, there are more characters that should be in the forefront

Haha.

I think the issue with the Braxtons is that even when other characters get big stories - it is overshadowed by the Braxtons - in particularly Casey.
- Romeo's death story has now become all about Casey's white knight complex
- Dexter's crash storyline was overshadowed by Case
- When Gina dies - Xavier seeks out Casey (who has a criminal record) to look out for Jett as opposed to one of his actual friends like Dex, April or Sasha.
- Rosie's rape storyline becomes a platform for Kyle to play the hero and exacerbate the Kyle/Tamara/Casey triangle.

The Braxtons are clearly popular (I have seen so many people with children under the age of one called Brax after Brax in Home and Away). But I think it is understandable for people who enjoy other characters to feel a bit shafted. In addition, it bothers me that all this criminal activity and murdering goes on without anyone batting an eyelid anymore.

I think H&A were on the right lines with reviving their fostering roots with Jett, Maddy and Spencer.

When did I say that? I didn't. I said saying that EVERY storyline revolves around them is an exaggeration.

Fine. When we have a episode that features Heath's upcoming wedding, Brax always playing parent or Casey on his latest girl trouble there's always a couple of lines left for someone in the diner to say

I 100% agree with this. The Braxtons just seem to find their way into everything. I liked them in the beginning but it's too much!!!

I think there is another factor to consider with all the screen time they are getting. What happens when they leave? Surely the 3 originals are going to try to go to Hollywood soon. There will suddenly be a big void. (IMO Kyle should go too, he's a shocking actor)

I'm really looking foward to Sally coming back but I am worried that she will find herself caught up in a Braxton saga. H&A should use Sally's return as a chance to re-focus on the other characters and the community.

I'm starting to get fed up with the Braxtons now I was always a big fan but they do seem to have taken over the storylines recently & from what I'm reading they are very prominent in the next few months too
