Humax HDR reverting to freesat mode without justification?

Hi.

Just a quickie, I use my HDR as a radio quite often, which is something the HDR is good at, and the display is really helpful, but one thing that has annoyed a little bit is the receiver sometimes reverts to 'freesat mode' from 'non freesat' mode, and when this happens, I have the irritation of having to turn my tv on, wait for the TV to startup, then wait for the HDMI connection, then navigate the menu to change back to non freesat mode, as I listen to radio via 19.2E

Is there any reason for this, it only seems to do it when in radio mode..

It depends what you mean by "no justification" I think. If there is a scheduled Freesat recording planned the HDR will force a Freesat mode change at T-15. I also use the HDR for radio on both Astra1 and 2 and have not suffered the problem you mention, yet. I sometimes use the HDR to record radio which is another big plus for me. However I must confess that I have only done this with Radio London ( for football) and have therefore set an artificial London postcode so that recording Radio London is in Freesat mode, thus robbing the HDR of a conflict. For me this is a higher priority than West Country ITV !

I never set timed recordings or use the EPG, but it's something that's only happened recently, even if the box turns on and for example it's showing 'RTL 1440' , if I try to change channel it then displays -menu- or after a delay it shows radio 1.

Maybe I'll do a full reset.

Could it be a detected new channels found also switches the box back to freesat mode ?

I think you're right, it did it again this morning, turn tv on, and a message was showing, informing me of deleted channels from the freesat EPG.. Back to radio listening now
