Our landline cut off today while my husband was in mid conversation.
I have tried everything. I unplugged all internet devices, unscrewed the bottom half of the face plate where the landline enters the house, then plugged a corded phone (which I know is in good working order) into the master socket, still nothing.
The mystery is that I can still access the internet !!!!! (of course after reconnecting router etc etc)
I tried contacting BT on my mobile but of course you don't get an actual person on the end of the line. However I did everything the "voice" told me to do, it said they were testing my line, and in fact I could hear some squeaks coming from the line, and they eventually said the line was ok. BUT IT'S NOT.
What do I do now.
Any suggestions gratefully received.
