What do you think of the recent surge of Duo Chocolate Bars?
I hate them i think they have spoiled the kingsize bars

First it was mars and snickers, now almost every big brand bar has copyed them like pigeons flocking to stock the duo bars.
I cant belive the general public would flock like pigeons to buy these chocolate bars?

Everyone who i have spoke to' that i know, prefer the king size bars, Why on earth did they have duo insted now?

Will they ever go back to king size? What do you prefer and why?

I don't see the point of a duo bar? I prefer eating the big King size bars, it spoils the texture of the chocolate as it does not feel the same as a king size bar Coo.

It must be cheaper for them to simply make 2 mars bars and put them in a big wrapper using the same machine as they use to make normal mars bars, than it is for them to make actual bigger bars, which is probably the reason for the change.

Do you not get King size at all?

I never get the big ones, I feel like a pig when I wolf them down lol

I have not seen the king size ones anymore, it tastes a lot better, Don't you think?
i have not notice the price being any cheaper, so why have they done this? Over the last few months i have notice it with more brands,Rach am not happy about it,
I was wondering if anyone else misses the king size ones?
Iam not buying the duo ones, unless someone gives them free to me.

as rivercity_rules says its probably cheaper for them to make it, and then charge the same since they'd make more. I know LP i can tell your upset about it. I like the king size for when I'm down and stop caring about dieting. Doubt they'd do that.

Cadburys and Galaxy are still normal size, and Galaxy have this one "cookie crumble" it is the best thing I've ever tasted.

The reason for the change is not the manufacturers idea, they have been under pressure from the government to do away with the king size bars on health grounds. (No honestly I'm not making it up).
To get around it the manufacturers have changed to 'duo' bars and promote them as bars to share. (Even though they know that the purchaser has no intention of sharing).

It's the same with Maltesers - now called 'Big Bag' - not king size and Twix Xtra.

Oh & the idea that the 2 bars in a duo are same size as 2 normal bars is way off the mark.

Can you elaborate more on that?
