Anyone into archaeology?
I'm often finding small, interesting objects, and think, hmm, I wonder how old that is etc. Sometimes, I even bring the items home with the vague hope that I can find out more about them, but they usually end up chucked in a pot, and never get round to doing anything about them. Other than travelling to the nearest museum with my treasure, only to find out it is a piece of modern crud, and feeling incredibly stupid, does anyone know of any online sites that help with identification of miscellaneous junk?! Today, I found a very interesting piece of pottery which looks really old, and would love to find out what is was.

I am not in to potter or anything like that but I am interested in forensic and biomolecular archealogical science.

Thanks for the link, yes, it does look really interesting. I have just have a brief look and there's lots of info. I shall see if there is anyone on the forum who may be able to identify my piece of pottery!
