Plastic Ono Band ?

A wild guess based on NOO anagram
Combo = Band
+ Yoko's Japanese roots .

+ Was your last post a brilliantly observed impression of the deity that is Lieutenant Columbo ?

sorry peeps - didn't see any activity when I last checked -

'Noo' anagrammed is 'Ono' - 'plastic' means able to be deformed/manipulated thus plastic and ono - 'Noo' is how one writes accented 'no' and 'no' = banned = band

I thought it was elegant...

Ah, I get it....plastic was the anagram indicator, hidden in the band name

The band in the latest clue were famous for pinching a hot star....

of course it's LEN

The falling star was 'sunshine'
pinching = 'steal'

therefore song title ' steal my sunshine'.

Fabric Conditioner = LENOR minus the alternative OR =

LEN

incessant = unending so could be FUC or SCRE or BON

BON JOVI?

could start with I'm i.e. IM

Carter was the name of the cop in "the Sweeney" and the Michael Caine villain in "Get Carter"

he also got to be President of the US of A

That crossed my mind T.
I found a firm of doormakers called 'Carter', but thats about it!

Oh...just seen Spoons Michael Caine 'get carter' reference, so it might be a nod towards MC's 'just blow the bloody doors off' line in 'the Italian job'.

Hi H....my other thought was Jim (Morrison) for door(s) man, or even The Carpenters as a carpenter would hang a door.....

Ooh, hang on....if you take the 'pen' out of Carpenter you're left with Carter.....but why would pen come out? Maybe not....

Charlie Croker was the name of MC in the IJ - however, as it was the same actor as Carter and as the rest fits - Unstoppable Sex Machine

As it happens,, I was at their last ever gig...

Grovelling apologies time .

Carter USM is correct . Think it was Terrence who got it .

I should have written Carlton , not Carter .

Would this have made it any easier ?

I'm off to have a long lie down as I am talking c..p tonight and last night .

Talk about bewildered !

I thought that the doorman in the U.S comedy Rhoda was called CARTER in fact hewas called Carlton therefore I have just wasted everyone's time .

Even more grovelling apologies !

I'm confused, you didn't mention Carter in the clue....and this is your first post since...

Unless I'm having a blond moment

edit

Just seen your last post. It's ok, np
The indirect Michael caine link would make the clue work anyways
