Could you ignore my last clue as I've discovered that the answer M was in fact a male vocalist and not a group . I thought there were a couple of girls with Robin Scott when they appeared on the Pops . A figment of my imagination .

Try this easy clue instead :-

X200 ?

New Clue: Vegetable has a double, group has a single.

May not be here to nurse this, so continue if you get it/get bored.

Hint: (5) , the double/single refers to a letter in the name

Ooops, thought this would have gone by now.

Think Scandinavian for the vegetable.

I'm completely confused .

The only Scandinavian veg connection I can think of is

SWEDE

So this leads me to SUEDE .

Don't ask me why - it's got 5 letters and is similar to Swede .

Yep!! Maybe a bad clue. Swede has a 'double u', Suede has just one 'u'. Seemed easy at the time
