Smash!
anyone remember smash! when it first started up?.. (later on it merged with ... wham! i think, and the valiant, but i might be wrong.
think it started in late 65, and featured a range of characters, monsters and mushrooms! i have only vague memories of it but i thought it was great... |

It started on 5 February 1966. It did indeed merge with Valiant, on 3 April 1971. Pow merged with Wham, Fantastic merged with Terrific, and both Pow and Fantastic then merged with Smash. |

Smash and the other 'Power Comics' are best remembered for being a lot of people's first exposure to the Marvel comics characters, but Smash actually went one better than the rest-Smash #38 featured the first ever British originated strip to feature a Marvel character, the Hulk, more than ten years before Dave Gibbons drew the jade giant in Marvel UK's Hulk Comic.

I have found a good site that shows which titles merged with whom, the link shows the Power comics and where the original Eagle eventually ended up - it merged into the Eagle comic!
