In a mug with boiling water, tea bag and milk.
Isn't that the way most people do it these days. |

Always warm the pot.
One spoon of tea per person and one for the pot. Use freshly boiled water. Let it brew. Milk, then tea, then sugar. Stir with a silver spoon. Wait for it to go cold. |

Tea bag and milk in the mug; then add boiling water.

Teabag and sugar first so that the sugar dissolves quickly and the leaves are actually boiled to release the full flavour when the water hits them. Teabag out after a good 30 second stir then in goes the semi-skimmed milk. Lovely!
Each to their own though. A cuppa is a thing not to be messed with if you've found a method that hits the spot for you.

In a pot does indeed make the best brew, you need to experiment on brewing times and how much stirring of the pot is required for the ultimate cuppa, also depends how much water you add and how many teabags are required, usually find 3 teabags is enough for a full pot that will make 4-5 mugs of tea. A teabag in a mug never quite tastes the same though is OK if you're in a hurry for a brew, never add the milk until last you must let the boiling water brew the tea initially!

Teabag in a mug, boiling water on, teabag out immediately - that's it! No milk, no sugar and the teabag gets re-used several times throughout the day.
I'm very cheap to run

Teabag, two spoons of sugar. Pour on boiling water, swish teabag around, quick squeeze. No milk, ruins the taste.
Smoke a fag and presto tea is perfect temperature to drink. |

I'm very cheap to run ![]() (well apart from the re-using the tea bag thing). That's just how I have my tea too. No milk, no sugar. I'm trying green tea at the moment - same way. It's very refreshing and (supposedly) good for you. It'll help my healthy eating programme along a treat. Marmite crisps and Wispa bars ARE healthy eating right?

I always add the milk before the BOILING water so I can see the strength as I mash the bag, however you're supposed to add the milk AFTER you've taken out the teabag as the milk clogs up the perforations in the bag thus preventing the flavour from 'flooding out'.
If there's more than a couple of people I like to make a pot. |

My husband is obsessed with the correct way to make tea. This includes not allowing the water to boil as it imparis the flavour, pouring it onto the bag very slowly, giving it time to sit, with the spoon NOT in the cup as this also impairs the flavour apparently, stirring , agitating and then finally squeezing and removing the bag, then adding the milk and giving it a brisk stir.
he is a tea nazi. |
