Arrrgh.. hated hearing PR sung by people who WERE NOT RUTH .. it kind of makes me happy though that PR was chosen as a bootcamp song, as it's obvious that's down to Ruth, as it's not the normal type of song you would choose is it ? *feels proud for Ruth* I just wish the judges could have given feedback at that point and mentioned how none of their versions were anywhere near as good as Ruth's Hope you are all good xxxxxxx

Hey I didn't like the versions of PR tonight either, it just wasn't the same! But it does show just how good Ruth was and I think your right that its choice as a bootcamp song was partly down to how good and popular Ruth's version was last year.

So I decide to watch these this morning.
Downloaded in HQ. Took FOUR hours. - My internet connection is so mucked up at the moment.
Anyway, go to play them on my brand new (very expensive) Vista PC. It wont play MP4 files. So have to download and install extra codecs.
Finally, just finished watching them

Hi if you have problems downloading and converting try this freeware http://www.any-video-converter.com/p...or_video_free/ its pretty robust I have used it for over a year to convert and edit Ruth for various devices successfully we have, you can download fro cnet as well - 4 hours to download and Vista aarrghh!!!!

I cant watch X Factor anymore this year it just seems crap without Ruth and disappointed Dannii has big Sister in tow for the final decision making. Simon Cowell will never have Ruth on the live shows cos he has no vested interest!!!!, to say that Dannii and Ruth got on so well they dont seem to communicate, and the versions of Purple Rain are really p*ss poor with no one making a Ruth comparison......

The X Factor is rubbish without Ruth.

I liked Ruth and Rachel straight away last year, but there's no-one standing out at all for me, atm. Maybe that'll change at Judges' Houses though... or on Week 1... or Week 2...

I read that Dannii still stays in touch with the three boys from her 2007 category so I doubt it would be any different with Ruth. There's probably not much communication right now because, like with Alex, they're both very busy. I see Ruth still wears the ring Dannii gave her which makes me smile.

There's an idea though. Maybe Dannii will ask Ruth back next year to help her choose at Judges' Houses. That would be unmissable TV (and I'd be in a state of about a million times the hysteria than what I was when I saw Kylie ).
Ruth did say she'd love to be on the other side of the judges' desk some time in the future.

And I agree with what you guys have been saying about Purple Rain. I'm more annoyed at the producers/whoever than the folk who sang it - it was Ruth's big moment and chosen as a personal favourite that meant a lot to her, and now it's been reduced to bootcamp fodder sung by several who clearly had no real connection with the song... Do some vocal acrobatics, "Look how well I can sing, put me through".
Sucks that that stage of bootcamp was the point where the judges don't offer feedback and therefore no chance of any mention of Ruth, who is obviously the main reason the song was added to the list. The least the show could have done was acknowledge her :-\

I know Simon doesn't manage Ruth. But then it's the same for Britney, Mariah, and the rumoured Lady GaGa, Robbie etc.

I believe if Ruth does become HUGE this year when she releases her material, and I mean really HUGE, then they would invite her back, as they want the biggest stars for the show. And I doubt it would be hard to get Ruth onto the show, I think she'd probably definately want to go on it.

I'd love Ruth to return to perform on XF but thinking about it now it's looking increasingly unlikely.
It obviously wouldn't be this year as she'd have no material out. Looking at next year, and taking into account Cowell seems hellbent on pushing for the show to become bigger and bigger, they'll want as many big names as they can get after filling the quota of previous contestants - definitely this year's winner, definitely Leona, probably Alexandra. Rhydian and JLS are other possibilities. Who knows who else...?

I can't work out how much being on a rival label would work against her. Cowell gets the acts like you mentioned that aren't on his label to bring in the ratings and I think Ruth would have to achieve MASSIVE success (and fingers and everything else crossed she does) to have a chance of getting a slot on the show amongst all the other non Cowell/Sony/Syco-associated big names.

Bleh... sorry for being so negative. Just something for people to think about.

Does anyone know yet if the 2nd live show would mean more than one guest a week? If they continue this into XF7 then that could restore a bit of hope.

They should do it like American Idol

- One day it's a huge name.
- Next day an ex-contestant.

I thought some time ago there was a discussion about previous acts coming on this years show so I might have been misunderstood.

When I said Cowell has no vested interest I elude to comments like "was it as good as Leona - No" its his backhand way of promoting his acts, he is deffo not going to push Ruth as he perceives her as competition for the likes of Alex who through her profile still sells the show, the global stars you guys mention well yes he has a commercial interest there cos again they also sell it.

When Ruth is a magastar, well, he would have her on but that will be a couple of years away and most probably xfactor and Cowell will be past their sell by as it morphs into BGT style screaming crowd b*ll*cks.

I just read this and if that clarifies my thoughts I'll be amazed !!!!!!! good night all x
