Exactly !!!!! It was the moment for all her not-yet-established fans to realise how amazing she is !!! It really was the standout moment of the entire series (entire history of XF tbh.. but maybe i'm a tad biased

) That's why we are all bound to get annoyed because it's not fair

I'm sure if you asked people to associate something with Ruth Lorenzo (apart from GORGEOUS big hair

) they would say PURPLE RAIN !!!! It's her song and should not be sung by anyone else but her !!!

And omg how great would that be if Dannii started saying that ''Was it as good as Ruth Lorenzo's version? No.'' LOL that is hilarious

Ok now i am hoping someone sings a Ruth song just so Dannii can say that !!!

That reminded me of the time when Simon said to JLS during Britney week that their performance was lacking some of Ruth's balls.. wooo !!

Ah well, unfortunately we can't do anything about it now lol. On the bright side people will be reminded of how great Ruth's performance was, and how great Ruth was in general.

And we get to have a good moan about the sacrilege of it all on the thread afterwards.

You know what? I felt exactly the same way when that guy on American Idol was supposed to be gonna do Purple Rain. It felt like they were trying to steal it off her. Steal her song, her idea, her moment.

I love how we are so protective of Ruth

However, now, I think that Ruth's versions, particularly of Purple Rain, Knockin' On Heaven's Door, Always, (I could go on...

) are untouchable

. I don't think anyone could do them as well as her. These performances are stand-alone moments in time. Moments that will never be repeated, surpassed, or recreated. They are hers forever.

So I'm not bothered at the prospect of other people covering her songs, lol

. Until someone is able to recreate the situation, the atmosphere, the emotion, the passion, heart and voice of Ruth Lorenzo, the songs belong to her. When's the last time there was a 'Purple Rain moment' on X Factor? When will there be again?

In the meantime, every time someone performs one of her songs, I'll be happy, I think

, knowing that it is a salute to Ruth and a reminder to the world of just what she did with it, originally.

Ha ha, yeah, ^ so that was the smart 'head' version. But I was annoyed when whoever that was the other night murdered ILRAR. And that wasn't even PR, KOHD or Always... or LAHA, or Summertime. I never heard them do Always - probably just as well

.

Maybe it's time for the 'heart' version: "They better keep their hands off Ruth's songs!!!"

And, lmao, I cannot wait until Dannii says, "Yeah, not as good as Ruth's!" I can just see us all going "Yaaaaaaaay!" or "Woot" or "Eeeeeee".

The only trouble is that it would need to be complete and accurate or people may not trust it.
And I think Ruth would need to mention it in order to get the word out.

This is a brilliant idea!

It's frustrating reading all the questions about what Ruth's doing, if she has an album, when it's coming out, etc, etc, etc that are all over YouTube, and Twitter, and other social networking sites generally. And there's no-one answering, and nowhere to go to find out. All this potential going to waste.

I think we should definitely do it!

I'd only be posting the very important and verified stuff. Plus some goodies like Youtube videos.

Some of us that are already on twitter can start spreading the word, get your friends that follow Ruth to follow us too.

One question: is there any bug-free apps that will allow me to have a simultaneous sign-in on this and my own personal one?

You can twhirl or tweetdeck and the internet explorer one for the other. I did it with mine so i could see both twitters.

Don't know if it's bug free but I haven't had any problems. Tweetdeck allows you to use multiple accounts. Not quite sure how it works with more than one account.

Yeah, I was thinking of the silhouette one. I'll test that out and edit it to fit properly if I need to.

Purple Rain was amazing

I know it was originally Prince's song but Ruth made it HER song and it was her defining moment on XF! Also brilliant performances of LAHA, Always and ILRAR (raunchy

Basically just the same idea as the official website, with a different pic. If there's any copyright problems I'll change it right away.
