So do I!! of course it will be Number 1. If Pixie can get there with Boys and Girls then there is no way About A Girl won't. This should have been the first single.

Just Girls Aloud fans me thinks. I have noticed them all over the place dissing Babes.

I agree. About a Girl is a great track and should have been the first release. I loved it as soon as I heard it and the studio version is even better. Can't wait to see the video.

Well, I'm a Girls Aloud fan who loves the Sugababes too. I didn't like Get Sexy, however, but I think About A Girl will grow on me.

Chris Moyles says that Jay Z was only 200 singles ahead and it was closer than anyone thought this morning.

So I think all those jumping on the Sugababes are dead wagon joined it too soon. To be only 200 or so singles behind three of the biggest acts in music, two of which are the biggest stars at the moment, is actually something else! so well done Sugababes.

But the UK is the Sugababes' home market. I would expect them to make a fist of it here.

As stated on another thread, Girls got a high chart position, but didn't save the album - and this track is not going to help sell albums.

No this was the album opener. About A Girl will sell the album.

Seriously. Why are so many making out this is such a massive change in Sugababes style? the change in Sugababes style was Catfights and Spotlights and that couldn't sell. This new album will. Its already high on pre order charts as it is, which is more than could be said for Cat & Spot this time last year.

Absolute shit love! Don't believe Moyles!

1 Jay-Z/Rihanna/Kanye West 62836
2 Sugababes 55708
3 David Guetta/Akon 54421 (To Date: 175,480)
4 Dizzee Rascal 48621 (To Date: 128,691)
5 Black Eyed Peas 39198 (To Date: 463,953)
6 Kings Of Leon [SOF] 25025 (To Date: 747,713)
7 Little Boots 23480
8 Tinchy Stryder/Amelle 22540 (To Date: 204,785)
9 Beyonce 21550 (To Date: 234,312)
10 Esmee Denters 19293 (To Date: 67,927)

(source Music Week)

They lost by 7,128 copies!

Considering they were 7k ahead of Guetta on Thursday, and only just over 1k more by Sunday, they were so nearly no.3! He has limited commercial radio play and no video, and still nearly caught them on his 3rd week in the chart!

The most telling thing is that on Saturday EVERY artist in the top 5 sold more copies than them on Saturday, so their sales were very frontloaded!

no offense to delectable. but it is clear you are not a Sugababes fan and are just trying to gloat in the faces of her fans which would suggest you are one of these girl aloud lovers who troll the likes of youtube saying how the sugababes don't sell records.

going to be fun watching them beat Cheryl to the number 1 spot in October

Lol, I like both bands, but i can notice when a song is good and when it is not. I liked GS at 1st but it wore off quickly and it is clear it wont have longevity.

About A Girl on the other hand isnt great either, RedOne gave up one of his worse productions for them! This will be a decent constant seller i think and will defo hit top 5!

No.1 is dependent on which week it will be released on, cos if it comes Oct 19th the same as Cheryl, they will both be still beaten by Alexandra on her 2nd week at no.1....NEXT. October 26th is their only chance (and that would still be slim.)....after this they again have no chance, with JLS' single out on Nov2 (and they will perform on X Factor) and Leona on Nov 9!

So, again a loon fan of GA or the Sugas not knowing anything about the real competitive nature of those weeks...they couldnt even beat 3 superstars (in fairness more the pulling power of Rihanna) who didnt promote, had no radio play (commercial), let alone songs which will all be on X Factor and have tonnes of marketing and promotion by acts which BIGGER fanbases.

p.s. I dont wanna sound rude but alot of you don't seem to know alot about the chart and being able to make accurate sales predictions....you just go on what you hear from inaccurate people or because you love a song so much! realism is something so many of you lack!

I hope that last line isn't directed at me. I quoted what Moyles said so don't make out I pulled out random figures from the hat. He said it and I posted it. He was wrong ok.

However I totally disagree about 'About A Girl' its one of Redone's strongest efforts and it is instantly catchy. I bet if Girls Aloud had it you'd be saying it was fabulous. This is why I'm also sick of Girls Aloud fans coming into Sugababes threads and downing them all the time. Plus I don't like Cheryl's effort and if that charts higher than About A Girl it is only because of X Factor and jack shit to do with the actual song. Apparently it was rejected by several stars before Cheryl got it..

If you think this was one of Redone's worst productions then you haven't heard the stuff he did with A*Teens.

Get Sexy has still been a big hit, About A Girl will be a big hit and the album will be a big hit. All of which make up for the disaster that was Catfights and this new album will just lead to better things for its follow up.

And anyway. Why have you left Robbie off your list? he will probably either knock Alexandra off or keep her off Number 1 with his comeback. Don't think he is past it as he also has X Factor coming up. So yeah I don't know what I'm talking about do I.

Sweetheart, RedOne saves his best stuff for GaGa no one else, as they have worked together for years! Everyone else gets cast offs!

p.s. what is with all the mentioning of Girls Aloud?!?! You can like someone and be critical you know, I don't do the blind devotion thing...that many of either of these bands' fans do! And contrary to popular belief, you can like BOTH bands!!

Just thought I'd throw some stuff in. Get Sexy has increased today and now looks like it might overtake Dizzie again. Pixie - redone produced is about to over take Akon.

So GS hasn't fallen as fast as you said it was going to earlier in this thread. 'sweetheart'

It has taken over Dizzee, cos this is what is known as the chartshow effect, the songs at the top, rebound for the 36hrs after the chart, it happens EVERY week, then they fall again. Hence why Jay-Z's lead has remained constant when it had been reducing. The fact you have just said that again tells me you know little about how the charts and itunes run on a weekly basis!

You obviously cant read very well, I said that they were gonna fall to no.6 (possibly even lower) this week. They are no.6 on iTunes atm, did i say they would drop out the top 10?????

With Regard to Pixie yes she is fighting for no.1 like i said last week, in this thread she would be. I've said she will go past Guetta but fade later on in the week like "Mama Do" did...so it will end up close whether Guetta will catch her or not!

Also, using this week, is a poor example the no.1 (possibly RedOne produced <<at least bloody spell it right) will probably not even sell 60k, in all the weeks from October 12, the no.1s by X Factor stars will easily sell more than that, and consistently with regard to Alex and Leona The SB couldnt get to 60K this week do you honestly believe this song is gonna do loads more??

To be honest you are just too rude that I'm not going to bother.

But one last thing. Don't assume Alex has the number one in the bag when she releases same day as Robbie. Leon only just got the number 1 over Peter Kay whereas Robbie has a far bigger fanbase.

You cannot call this chart race as both are appearing on X Factor too. So don't use the X Factor PR thing.

Actually I have just been told leon only got to number 3.

Alexandra has a bigger battle than Leon did with Robbie. So nothing is certain.

I'm sorry to sound rude, but I have vast experience in knowing the charts for over 10 yrs...the changes, everything....so unless you have that kind of knowledge, which you don't...you're better asking people who do! I feel free to answer questions and to provide sources like I do for Taz, if you need info!

How can you compare the girl who is the only British female to have million selling single to Leon She sold more than twice as many singles as he did for his debut single! Please stop making these faux pas! Alexandra is so highly anticipated.

With regards to XFactor, as I understand it neither will be on XFactor until the weekend before their albums come out, not by the singles! People who think "Bodies" will beat "Bad Boys" are naive, as Robbie is definitely over the last yrs become more an album artist! It will be an embarrassing crushing defeat if this is made into a battle! Simon Cowell's marketing will see to that!
