The one thing I have found interesting, and at times, humourous, about all these different reviewers and critics, is that they seem to have contradictory opinions on Diana's Impersonations, as to which ones are spot on, and which ones are not quite right.

Does this then suggest that ALL of Diana's Impersonations are 'Spot On'.

The other 'bone of contention' seems to be with the finale song. I think that it's only 2 reviews that I've read, thus far, that didn't like the fact that the Finale Song was changed from the original play and movie (a Judy Garland song was sung), and that it is sung in Diana's own voice. Obviously, these 2 critics/reviewers had seen the original play etc..

However, isn't one of the points of the story, that LV finds her own voice? So, having found her own voice, why would she sing a Judy Garland song, in Judy Garland's voice??

(The first review I've posted doesn't like the 'change' of song and ending, whereas the 2nd Review suggests that it's LV/DV's 'Finest Moment')

I've just recently seen the Little Voice movie, and the new ending to the Play/Story, i.e. new song (unheard song) in LV's own voice, makes much more sense to me.

”

The only negative reviews (the one over the page and another in the Independant) rest on the strange logic that nothing comes as a surprise as it did when Jane did the role originally. That argument would have killed off every work ever written after its first night. It seems a very minority reaction. Agree finding your own voice seems a rather important theme to end on.......

Off to see the show today.........

Stunning.

Love the acting. She's got the difficult role as the quiet person who needs to play someone very unusual credibly in a play where everyone else is overacting and much of the time she has no lines to do it with. She does it brilliantly - watch her in the bits where she isn't doing anything in the script and she just is LV.

Love the comic timing.

Love the set.

Love the other members of the cast - magnificently awful except for her soulmate.

Love the live presence - she just stands there on the front of the stage and performs it like a pro. Its so impressive.

Stunned by the singing. Dusty was as good as the person who won the BBC show for tribute acts doing her and possibly had more wow, she doesn't have to do the whole thing but her Julie Andrews impression is up there with Connie's and I liked her version of Lulu more than Connie's. There's audience laughs with Monroe and whoops for Piaf. And Shirley Bassey is simply sensational........

Hope they are looking after her voice as she' doing an awful lot and most leading ladies with as much or less (see Jodie ) are only doing 6 shows a week. I may book another visit before the one I already have booked....

Matinee was full - saw about 2 empty seats so lets hope its getting the audience numbers it deserves.

Go see.

Another amazing review posted by a fan onto the fan site.
Posted today as well.
------------------
I went to see Little Voice on October 8th, so the second night, and well...it was utterly incredible. I came out of the theatre crying my eyes out! It was...there is no right words to explain this kind of brilliance.

Lesley Sharp, who plays LV's mother was amazing! She was funny and harsh and made the whole show just come together, she defenatly was the right choice for Mari. Marc Warren, who plays Ray Say was wonderful!! He was so slick and charming and soooo funny! Rachel Lumburg who played Sadie...she was the funniest thing I have ever seen. Oh my goodness, her and Lesley made such a team as 'best friends' and her drunk scene was just HYSTERICAL. Then...now for the star of the show...Diana Vickers...she was incredible. Her acting was so subtle and fragile, and then the anger and the power, she played the part of LV so well - it was like she was her. Diana's singing was just UNBELIEVABLE. Soooo amazing.

When she first started singing a Judy Garland number, I thought they had left the tape running and she was miming, I was just sitting there blinking away thinking it was some kind of joke, then I realised it was in fact Diana singing...I just burst into tears. When she does her impressions on stage, she looked amazing, so grown up - like a hollywood star, and the impressions she does...? I have never seen anything so marvelous and wonderful, it was just amazing. Her Edith Piaf is just like listening to Edith Piaf on a record.

Again, when she started singing 'Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien' I burst into hysterical tears! And Shirley Bassey was just Shirley Bassey. Her voice was so strong and Shirley Bassey-ish. She was so amazing at everysingle one of her impressions, it was like Diana had become the singers she was impressioning. When she finally starts speaking for herself, she really is amazing, when she attacks Ray Say with her voices, she makes you laugh and cry and get abit scared actually.

There's been alot of talk about the final song, and well what can say? Like just A-M-A-Z-I-N-G like oh my goodness, incredible. I think you have to go and see this wonder of a show to understand what I'm on about and how absolutley amazing and incredible it was. GO. AND. SEE. LITTLE. VOICE. (but prepared to become addicted) xx

Someone preferably with the show needs to record Diana's big second act singing montage and stick it on youtube before the show closes - its far too good not to be recorded for posterity. The bit they have on the site is only a tenth of whats there and its at 20% of the live power.

The new song would depend if she can use it on her album - you wouldn't want to reduce her sales by making it that available now.

I don't think they would allow any track/music from the show on You tube, not while the show is running anyway.

Well, thats my booking sorted, return tickets 1st class virgin train from Liverpool to Charing cross, Saturday Matinée on the 21st of November, not bad for £256 for the two of us, and the trains are so fast, plenty of time to get something to eat in London.

Hope you all saw Diana on TV this morning.

Diana has had to grow up rather fast since X-Factor.
She has been working very hard, it must have been tough learning all those songs and learning to sing like the original artists as well.
And doing 8 shows a week, that's an awful lot of singing.

Can't wait to see her now.

For those of you who didn't see it live, just before this televised clip, they were doing a report on eating junk food and when they went from the film report to the live presenters who still had to comment on the 'food film, Diana was leaning into the shot signing autographs and the presenters had to say something like "that was Diana Vickers who will be on shortly, signing autographs" before carrying on with the food story! A real 'Diana moment'!

I just had a thought that I wanted to share with this forum. That is - each time I have watched Diana talking in front of a camera - i.e. not singing or anything, but doing "talking" stuff for her websites, directly 'to camera', I have been really struck by how natural she is in talking to the camera. Have any of you noticed this? It really is quite a talent to come across like that; not everybody does.
In my opinion, Diana would be well qualified to try some presenting work for television. I think she would be great at it.

I noticed that on my recording, don't think she was supposed to get into the shot as she was getting ready, I suppose they had to mention it with everybody being able to see her.
Will have to rewatch that bit, didn't realise she was signing autographs.

I thoought she looks great, bit of a problem with the skin on her face, left side I think, wonder what is causing that?
That bit when she was singing was the Shirley Basey takeoff wasn't it?

She is a natural in front of a camera, but she is very quiet spoken, not sure if that is good for presenting.
And I think she is going to be far to busy to have time to do that anyway.
I suppose it depends on what pays best in the end, or what you would rather do.
I think she just loves music and singing.
